The Kawasaki Vulcan is a high quality cruiser with large V twin engine. handling again is superb.I have owned quite a few bikes in my day, my first was Honda CB360. I am 47 now. This is without question the finest motorcycle I have ever owned.I would like a little horsepower, perhaps 90 or so vs. the 60 or so you get, but then again HP isn't everything, toque is important as well and this bike has quite a bit of that. HP costs money and I think Kawasaki chose a the right numbers with this bike.

This is an amazing cruiser. Very easy to ride. I went from a 200cc Vespa scooter straight to this without a problem. Low seat that inspires confidence. I added many things and it is very very fun. Rough for long distance touring though with your normal vibration of a big 800 v-twin
Hot-rod it with Vance n Hines big shots and a barons air kit and a power commander or techlusion computer. Lots of torque and power.

The Kawasaki Vulcan 1600 FI is a great bike. I bought it in May 2003 and was initially hesitant about buying a "first year" bike but am glad I did. I have 6000 km on it and have had nothing but good things to say about its overall performance. It handles like a sport bike with superb acceleration and braking. I get about 250 km on a tank and just love the ride.
I only would change the black plastic horn (have a pair of louder aftermarket chrome ones on order) and I wish the storage panel on the bike had a removable case so you're not stuck trying to feed small items into the 'down' side of the bike.
