I have tried and failed to pay this account ahead-no matter how many payments I make it is never ahead, and if I do not make a payment exactly on the 2ND I am considered late. HSBC is who finances for BEST BUY, use your VISA card with a different bank-Do not use HSBC-The way they treat their customers-even the ones that try to pay ahead is horrible. Best Buy is a good company but HSBC is not.

This card is excellent and I rarely use my other cards anymore. Firstly because the customer service is so good. Unlike most departments at HSBC, if you call, you speak with someone who speaks English as a first language and is extremely polite and helpful. Secondly the "premier points" can be easily redeemed for Amazon (or other vouchers) and I get £30 to £50 a month to spend with these. I am not sure how it would be possible to improve the product!

I am an end user of this card and the point that I want to make is about the loyalty scheme - I think its great! I have been using this card for many years and generally pay off the balance at the end of each month and through that have been gradually accumulating points. I had ignored them for a while and thought hey guess what I could get a radio alarm clock that I didnt need etc. But the points can be used against travel so I inquired about this, fearing some long drawn out form and months to get a refund etc and the kind woman just said they can be used against any flights or travel that you might have recently purchased using your card.
So a couple of weeks ago I had used my card to buy some flights and just like that they gave me a cash refund on the phone off those flights and on to my card - no forms, no hassle and no waiting. Its great, so simple and definitely recommend to others. Well done HSBC - a bank that does things, quickly, easily and simply !

I as a retailer have today seen my first invoice from HSBC with the new premier charges of 0.7 to 0.9% added. There is no breakdown of the charges which I can reconcile to daily takings. I have requested a breakdown but told not available. I have reported this to Trading Standards and awaiting a response.

Are HSBC customers aware that HSBC Merchant services have written to all card retailers to advise that on only HSBC Premier cards from June 1,2010 an additional 0.7% commision will be charged on face to face transactions and 0.9% mail order transactions. The retailer has been told that he can make a charge to cover this commision but also must make a charge to cover all cards,if he chooses to charge for Premier cards. The retailer has also been advised that these charges are not negotiable and he has no choice he has to accept the cards.

Every month, despite paying by direct debit, my HSBC Premier Credit Card received late payment charges plus interest charges. I had to call monthly to have them reinstated, every single month!!!

My experience with HSBC has been good so far. There have been times when I overlook my monthly dues, and all I got from them is an SMS reminder. I prefer this over the harassing calls from Citibank.
