This was a great bike to ride off road but the framed snapped on the chainstay swing arm seems to be a common problem. Also the rear suspension with no lockout is a bit of a mare when climbing single track as it bottoms out.

Brought the bike and all was fine to start with rode very well.
Did some off road riding nothing hard and found the frame had cracked at the back after having the bike only 8 days.
Have taken mine back and brought a different bike.
Shame as bike looks the part just dont trust it if your going to use it off road.

I have already put in a review & at first THOUGHT Carrera Banshee bike was SOUND...be warned, i have 07 model & has constantly broke down...Don't know if latest model any good?...Wish i went back to GIANT...Also HALFORDS in STIRLING are a DISGRACE.

Took it to a bike shop to get repaired and got ripped off instead. They took it for a test ride and called me on the phone. They then said that i need to replace the headset the rear cog the chain and the crank on the front. so a very expensive repair job. My advice stay clear of the carrera Banshee.

I bought a Carrera Kashmir mountain bike about twenty years ago, and after a lot of hard work on rough trails the bike looks and performs pretty much as it did when I bought it, with no apparent wear to bearings and very little adjustment being required. It has been meticulously maintained by myself and the only replacements have been tubes and tyres.
