“Slurp Busted Wine”

I have done two orders from Slurp. The last order was for 5 GBP50 per bottle order. It was a wine with a 97 from trusted critic reviews. This is the second bottle that I try and both of them are damaged. The same happened on my initial order for a different wine. I am starting to doubt the credibitly of slurp. Their good deals might be good because they are reselling damaged wine. 4 out of 4 bottles tried so far have been undrinkable. This is more than just mere bad luck!!

“Avoid - avoid! This company does not deserve any...”

I ordered 6 bottles of wine which were advertised as available for next day delivery. Once the online order is completed a message pops up announcing that an order confirmation will be e- mailed. That never arrived. Because of that I logged into my slurp account only to discover that my wine was going to be delivered in 10 days time. I then googled the company and found some shockingly poor reviews. I contacted the company by e-mail and in fairness they did respond the same day assuring me the delivery would be made this Thursday. Did the wine arrive as promised? Heck it did. No update, no message - nothing. This will be my first and last order with slurp. This is simply not good enough. Shame on these Slurpers or Slackers

“Totally rubbish service and they don't care - AVOID!!”

Ordered 8 bottles of wine on a Sunday as a prsent for someone. 8 days later having chased the order it was delivered. It was a suprise to look inside the box and find only 6 bottles of wine and no sign of any explanation as to what had happened to the other two missing bottles. I emailed them to complain but they didn't both to respond. I called them and the person said that someone would definitely call me the next day and the missing wine could be delivered in another 3 days time. Obviously nobody called me the next day and 5 days on there is no sign of the missing wine that I have paid for. I buy wine from lots of companies but slurp.co.uk are very poor indeed and I would strongly recommend that you avoid them!

“Do not use!”

Terrible service. Order was still not dispatched three weeks after I ordered it. Was told this was because one of the items was out of stock. Changed the item and finally the order arrived - but all the wine was different from what I ordered! They say they credit your delivery if it takes over seven days but had to request this. Don't think I'll be using it though!

“Don't expect your order to turn up in time for your party”

Made two orders now - both orders have been for a dozen "next day delivery" bottles that have turned out to be out of stock, despite their website advertising them as available. On the most recent occasion they didn't even bother telling me that the items were out of stock. I sent 2 emails asking about my order that went unanswered and finally called them. No apology, no offer to send me different wines, so I cancelled the whole order and am hoping that they will actually refund me the money. Don't even think about ordering if you need the wine by a certain date, go elsewhere.

“Terrible service”

Almost a month since the order date - still no arrives. Delivery date changed twice and now it appears that they've stopped communication altogether. Terrible company, will never use again.

* Their terrible business practice is only matched by the incompetence of their customer service * I ordered three bottles of wine as a Christmas present on the 11th of December, 9 days before the cut off for guaranteed delivery before Christmas. On the 20th I got an email saying my order was dispatched but 1 bottle would be dispatched at a later date, with no more information. My calls and email on the day went unanswered. Meaning I was left hoping to get it before Christmas, but I never did. I have since contacted them on three separate occasions, and I still do not know when or if my wine will be delivered.

“Too many problems to mention!”

Their website has been advising guaranteed pre Christmas delivery for all orders placed before 20 December. Shame they couldn't deliver my order from 4th December and in three phone calls have given me three different excuses. It has been a courier error, sent to the wrong warehouse and out of stock all with 3 hours. This has seriously disrupted my Christmas plans as no other suppliers could help on 24 December. I will be taking advice from trading standards - an offer of delivery in the first week of January when they had never made any attempt to inform me of problems during the last 4 weeks, is simply unacceptable. I'd strongly advise against using this company.

Ordered a selection of wines on 16th December with a guaranteed delivery before Christmas. Emailed and left voice message on the 20th - no response. Called again on 24th only to be told they couldn't complete my order even though it was "in stock" on the website. Shocking customer service, guaranteed delivery promise simply not true, no confidence I would get order requested, just cancelled. Would recommend you look at another wine supplier

“misleading and blatant lies”

Ordered some beer at the start of november which was shown on slurp website as in stock. Once my order had been processed the estimated delivery date showed as 10th december! on the 10th of december this date suddenly changed to show the 14th. I made a phone call to slurp and was advised that delivery would be the next day ( a blatant lie).when it didnt arrive i called again and was advised they would sort it out and have delivery made in the next couple of days. still no sign of my order and no reply to my last 5 or 6 emails. conmen!

“Promises Much but doesn't Deliver - Literally!”

I ordered wine which showed as being available and was at a good price. However, after going through checkout my on-line account showed a much later delivery date, longer than I was able to wait as it was for a party. Consequently I rang up and cancelled the order. I was offered alternative wines which were in stock and ready to ship but they weren't to my taste. The very pleasant guy on the phone apologised and said my money would be returned to my account that afternoon. Thus far disappointing but not too much of a problem. However, a few days later I checked my bank account - no refund. Slurp website showed my order as still live and now with a delivery date of early December! This despite the fact that I was told if I hung on for the wine it would only be a couple of days late. I contacted them again and was told that they couldn't understand why the refund hadn't taken place and would look into it straight away. True to their word they called back and said the refund had now been processed. Problem being if I hadn't checked then the order would have gone ahead when I'd already been out and bought alternative wines and the occasion had long passed. Needless to say I wasn't best impressed and voiced my unhappiness. Wine out of stock when showing as available is poor, but to promise an immediate refund and neglect to put it through is too bad. Would like to give them another try but don't see it happening. I've lost confidence I'm afraid.

“Awful experience. Avoid!”

While they have a great range of wine and beer they are very unreliable and have terrible customer service. I deliberately ordered only bottles available for next day delivery yet it took over a month of phone calls and emails to finally get it delivered. I paid extra to receive my order before midday yet it arrived in the late afternoon. They also took so long to deliver my order that they had sold out of some items and had to replace them with ones I was less keen on. They felt no need to apologise at any point.

“Good wine, poor communication and terrible delivery”

Placed order at the beginning of April for a mid day delivery. Phoned the next day and was told that mid day delivery did not mean next day delivery. Asked when I could expect delivery and was told next week. Regularly checked website, estimated delivery date was given as 11th. That came and went. Did not respond to emails sent. Telephoned again and told delivery would actually be another week on a sepcific day. They tried to deliver a day early when I had not made arrangments to be at the delivery address. Left card to be automaticaly re delivered the next day but the goods were not loaded onto the couriers van. Despite being told that my extra payment for delivery charges would be refunded, they have not been. Not even a email of apology. This was an order for a reasonable amount as well, not just a few bottles of cheap wine. Would never use again and would not recommend.

“Shockingly bad”

I placed an order with Slurp on the 8th of May for over £4000 of wine. Everything I ordered was "in stock" according to their website. I deliberately placed the order in the spring and only ordered in-stock items, to ensure that the wine would be delivered while the weather was mild, and would neither freeze nor cook in transit. Wrong - it took 2 months to receive my wines. 1) Slurp made the decision to split the order in two. I was not notified about this until after the first half shipped, on May 25th, 17 days after I placed the order. During those 17 days, I was promised at least 4 times that it would ship "today" or "tomorrow". 2) Slurp shipped the first half of the order to the wrong address, and failed to send me the tracking number, despite repeated requests and repeated assurances I would receive it, resulting in major delays and huge problems in receiving the delivery. How can they possibly ship to the wrong address, when the correct address was typed into their website? Incredible. 3) Weeks passed, still no sign of the rest of the wines, and I was going on vacation, so I told them to please ship the rest to my neighbour, which they confirmed they would. 4) On June 17th they shipped the rest of the order. Slurp confirmed to me that the second half of the order was sent to my neighbour, even though I would later find out that it was not - it was sent to me (and I was outside the country). 5) The wines didn't show up. I had to ask for the tracking number 3 times, and when Slurp finally sent it to me on June 23rd, they first claimed it was impossible to get a tracking number, then they sent me the wrong tracking number, causing even more confusion 6) I had to get on the phone with DHL for over an hour from the US (where I was on vacation), in order to finally get the correct tracking number, and give them the delivery instructions which Slurp should have done, and that Slurp confirmed they did, even though it seems they did not. 7) Almost 2 months after placing the order, my neighbour received the wines. I hope that the wines were not overly damaged sitting completely unnecessarily for a week in the summer sun in DHL's warehouse because of Slurp's failure to give them the correct shipping address in the first place, and subsequent failure to give me the correct tracking number for their own delivery. 8) I sent Slurp an email saying everything that had gone wrong, expecting some sort of store credit, or at least an apology. NO REPLY - wow, that takes the cake. The only way Slurp could have screwed this order up more would be to send me the wrong wines - which thankfully, my neighbour tells me is not the case. I won't be ordering from Slurp again in the future. Oh, and their website is rubbish - no online tracking, and you can't "drill down" into categories: if you choose desert wine, then France, you don't see French desert wines, you see all French wines - hopeless. So unless you know exactly what you're looking for, or have hours to spend browsing through everything, it's very difficult to use.

I ordered on slurp using a promotional offer on the 7th of december. They only sent through 3 out of my 6 bottles of wine and I was forced to chase them 2 weeks later at which point they stated that there had been a problem getting stock because of the snow and that they would deliver it when it arrived.

I followed up again just before new years and they said that I would receive my order in early january. on the 18th of Jan I sent them a third email reminding them that I was still waiting for my wine at which point they stated that I had only ordered 3 bottles - their record keeping is awful! I forwarded them my confirmation email statting that I had paid for 6 bottles and they said they would send me the wine the following week

On feburary 10th I was still waiting for my wine and finally sent them an angry email stating that it had been OVER 2 MONTHS since I placed my order and that I was unhappy with the service.

They then proceeded to post me my wine which arrived this morning wihtout an apology card or any compensation at all. Not the way to retain a customer - I am severely unimpressed!

Another victim of the groupon deal. I also was originally going to get some beers, but all single bottles suddenly "sold out". I am sure they will appear back in stock just after the vouchers are out of date....
I then thought, i'd have some whisky, but no, even though the voucher says valid on ALL products on slurp.co.uk, you can't use it with whisky. When I asked about this, slurp said I couldnt use it because the whisky was on offer. It wasn't on offer, and when I said this I was told, well it just can't be used against whisky!
Aside from my bad experience with them, I would say the website is fairly good, could be better laid out with few more search options. I like having the live help chat, although at times it can be a little slow, and the help wasn't particularly helpful.
Price wise, the website is very expensive. Prices of whisky were more expensive than most other websites / shops, and the flat delivery charge of £5.99 is extortionate if you only want a few things. I was going to buy a gift voucher and a glass, but £5.99 postage for that put me off. Especially when they quoted 10-12 days for delivery!
Got a feeling they were hoping doing a deal with groupon would be great for them, but its definitely back fired. I will never use groupon or slurp again, and advise all family and friends the same!

When it works OK, it is fine although a bit expensive, could buy cheaper elsewhere. When it fails to work (as it has done for us this week), the service is shockingly poor. Yes, there are weather conditions to contend with but when we offer to pick the wine up from the courier ourselves and Slurp can't even be bothered to give us the info we need, we count that as incredibly poor service. We will not be using them in future and would recommend you do not use them if you are looking for a RELIABLE, customer-focussed service.

Shocking company. Do not use unless you are happy waiting over 6 weeks. I ordered on the 17th November and am still waiting. Customer serices tell me it has been despatched but it never arrives.

I e-mailed the MD who was less then helpful and has since been ignoring my e-mails. I have a good mind to go to Trading Standards.

I also bought the Group on voucher for Slurp, I had intended on buying 1 of several different beers as a Christmas present, this was possible before the voucher went live, I was quite surprised to find once the voucher went live that you could no longer buy single beers, they were only available in packs of 6 or 24. I contacted them and was informed by a woman that the minimum had changed because of the deal, not happy with this I asked to speak to a Team Leader, she said she'd get someone to contact me...never happened. A few days later I spoke to them online and was told that because of the success of the voucher that they were running low on single beers, ok, I'll wait a little longer. Waited, waited, checking the site to see if they had sorted it out...nope. Emailed them, same answer as before. Waited. Called them and asked why the beers they have in in groups on 24 can not be split into singles, I received no satisfactory response, asked to speak to Team Leader, told not possible. Eventually I was called back by same CSR and was informed the CEO would contact me....surprise......no call from the CEO. Emailed them again asking when CEO would call and was told to email Jeremy (CEO), did this a week ago.....guess what????? He hasn't bothered replying either! Once I finally receive the order I will never use slurp again and I will do my utmost to ensure others don't either, sham company.

Exactly the same as other reviewers, i spotted the Slurp.co.uk / Groupon deal which on the surface, looked like a good deal. But after adding a few cases of wine to my basket, i realise that it is so over-priced that i probably would have found a better deal in my local tescos- even with a large discount.

I placed the order with Slurp on 23rd Nov, have chased the order 3 times and promised 3 different delivery dates and it still hasn't arrived. Customer service blame a high number of orders and the snow - but 3 weeks is an exceptionally long delay especially as they advertise to pack your order immediately.

Useless service - expensive, inconsiderate and unreliable. Would not recommend or use again.
