Hayling Island, Lakeside Resort

Accomodation not good definatley in need of a good refurbishment.

We went to stay at Lakeside as a base to celebrate our 40th Wedding anniversary for 3 nights.

We were very disappointed having booked a Standard PLUS Chalet the decor was tired and not as advertised, the bathroom had mould along the edge of the bath and along the floor, the toilet backed up when other people used their toilets or baths. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows as flat as pancakes.

The saving grace was that the food was reasonable but you only had 1 hour time slots to eat.

We would NOT recommend it to friends and family.

We filled in a survey to this effect and to date have not heard from them.

2010 Bowls break. Entertainment was excellent. Food was very good considering the number of people being served. Pool and leisure facilities good. We stayed in a standard chalet - it really was a small, spent the entire break thinking the real bedroom must be behind one of the cupboard doors! Reasonable parking but may be a problem in the peak season - expect to walk a fair way to the car.

There were four of us who stayed at Lakeside Resort and we all had a really good time. We stayed in the premier lodges(nos 2 and 3 ) which were in a lovely quiet location, the rooms were spotless and light and airy.

The resident cabaret was excellent. Food was good but not much of it. Lakeside was good value for money., comedian was fantastic.

Would definately go again.

We spent seven days bowling holiday at Warners Lakeside, Hayling Island in February 2009. The Chalet was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Restaurant spacious and doubles for entertainment hall. Food: good selection and good quality. We experienced excellent Waitress service it was friendly, attentive and speedy. We thought the In-house entertainment was excellent. Would certainly return in future.

This was my first Warners Break, and as a 47 year old divorcee I was very unsure, especially on arrival. But I can honestly say I have not enjoyed a holiday so much for ages: it was a shock initially to have to share a table in the restaurant with 3 strangers, but that turned out to be a blessing and the company was fun without being suffocating.

The grounds and the wildlife were superb, and the short walk to Hayling front was easy going.

The food and service were superb - a good choice and always hot and well presented. Our waiter was Polish and his grasp of English was not brilliant but he was always cheerful and polite and went out of his way to assist wherever possible.

The chalet was small but clean and well presented and located conveniently close to the main reception but without being too noisy.

All in all it was a relaxing and peaceful break and I would not hesitate in returning sooner rather than later.

There is nothing much to do on Hayling Island, although it is quite pretty. Warner's other property - Sinah Warren - appears to be much more appealing than the Lakeside Resort! The Saturday evening entertainment "Forever in Blue Jeans" was FABULOUS, but the other evenings were not so good.
