I Have Been Gigging Regularly In A Swing Band (goo

I have been gigging regularly in a swing band (Goodman, Miller, etc.) and I have been able to dial in a nice, fat low end and still maintain lots of punch that the horn players really like to groove over. The drummer loves the sound of it compared to the Hartke KickBack 10 (30 lbs) I had been using. Anything that weighs over 30 pounds better be good or I don't want to haul it (we all get older!) and this thing is worth hauling its 50 lbs to gigs. Some reviewers seem to think this amp is too small for gigs - I'd agree for lots of rock, alternative, etc. genres that is probably true but not for jazz, swing, dixieland .... In a large venue you'd probably being going into the house PA console anyway.

The Line 6 Ld150 Bass Amp Sounds Great, And It Has

The Line 6 LD150 bass amp sounds GREAT, and it has lots and lots of flexibility with its 4 amp models and synth, built in tuner and deep boost, direct out for studio or PA use, 150 watts, plenty enough for its 12 inch speaker. Unfortunately, it is not extendable and not loud enough for gigging with amped up guitarists and an acoustic drummer. It is a good amp, but it is too big for a practice amp, and too small for a gigging amp. If you do gig with one of these, make sure the venue or your band has a good PA and mixer to boost it a bit.
