Glenshee, Dalmunzie

The Dalmunzie is simply the best hotel we have ever stayed at; and we have stayed at a lot of hotels around the world. The staff were all (without exception!) very friendly and nothing was a problem for them. The waiting staff were there when we wanted them and not when we didn't. They were very discrete keeping a polite distance when, for example we were in conversation, but chatty and friendly when included.

The hotel makes a mockery of the AA/RAC star rating system as it only has 3 stars. We have stayed at posh hotels as well as run-of-the-mill and we found the standards here above anything we have experienced. In many 'posh' hotels the staff can come across as aloof and snotty. Not here, they were efficient and hard working with impecible silver-service standards and yet they came across as down to earth and we felt more like guests than customers.

We would very highly recommend this hotel and intend to stay here whenever in the area. Note, they also have a very fine and well-tended 9 hole golf-course which has fantastic views and breathtaking scenery.
