My experience of Anglian is that they will put in the absolute minimum they can get away with, I have now been fighting Anglian for almost 18 months and even had a solicitor acting on my behalf, they then insisted on an independent expert to come to my home and check the quality of the windows they had installed, the expert slated all of the windows and even said that they were so bad they could never achieve the standard set by Anglian let alone a good standard, and, as such they would all need to be taken out and replaced, and yet Anglian will still not respond to the solicitors request to settle this mater, so if you have not yet ordered your doors, I would suggest you go else where, if you have ordered them, good luck in trying to get them to resolve any issues you have.

Whatever it should be,you most certainly will be better off going to another company for your doors. Check reviews and that should help you in your decision

OMG. Should I cancel the order?

I would not recommend Anglian because of their lack of aftercare. I achieved some compensation but it takes a huge amount of effort to get any response from the local office. The head office reassure you that the problem will be sorted but they do not pursue the issue just pass it onto the local office! And that is where it stops.

Speak to your local window company - I found anglian products to be poor quality and badly installed.

Have any other Anglian customers in Kent had damage done by fitters and found they tried to cover this up and have you had problems with trying to get recompense which was agreed, but not settled and are still waiting? I am putting together a list for the CEO for when I have enough response.

Thanks for answering this question.

Hi, I am sorry that you are joining the thousands of unhappy customers of Anglian Windows, I am from Surrey and have been trying to get Anglian to court for the past 7 months and even with a solicitor constantly contacting then they are doing everything in their power to delay matters and we believe that this is purely to get me to either run out of money or just give up altogether, but neither of these will happen for what they have put me through is unbelievable, the windows they supplied are not fit for purpose which every person who has had these windows installed can prove, for according to Anglian's own specification sheet , the window only covers the frame by 2 - 3mm which does not even touch the only seal fitted to the frame and allows the wind, cold and noise to come into my house and the heat go out, which is not what they promised to give me or anyone else, all they keep saying is that the are the industry leaders, not true, for every other manufacturer we can find gives an overlap of between 6 - 10mm all round their windows and they also have two " Q-LON" seal, which have proven to be the industry best, so no I will not give up until I can get this company to court and show everyone how badly they have been conned out of the money they paid in good faith, and finally I will be putting everything in the National Newspapers in the hope of destroying this company before they destroy too many more peoples lives. Good luck and all the best in your fight. Regards.

Hello ive had just that problem. But in hampshire. Many promises to compensate got all the emails. But after six months of waiting for the manager to sign off all the paperwork...... They deny all knowledge??

Swanley and Orpington Anglian damaged property, promised compensation, promised window boards and left windows with only wallpaper against the outside world. Their rendering has fallen off twice. New window frames damaged. The staff all lied. The CEO ignored all communications. Fensa and The Glazing Ombudsman are obviously in Anglian's back pocket. 11 months after it was started the job is still incomplete. Anglian failed to answer any communication from TGO who still ruled in their favour.

hello - so sorry about the problems you are having with them. Quite frankly I fail to see why they are still in business - they must be the number one contender for litigation against them. Given their appalling track record I feel that just waiting for a response would be a complete waste of your time. I think it would be money and time well spent getting some proper legal advice on the appropriate steps to take. Unfortunately they will not take any notice of you if you are acting without any substantial backup. From reading previous feedback on this site there are lots and lots in the same boat as you and it would appear they are gathering together their resources to finally get a resolution out of the 'company' and hopefully stop them from trading. Perhaps WATCHDOG would be interested again - check out their video on You Tube - very interesting. I sincerely hope you get this resolved asap. Please keep us informed on your progress.

Hi Didn`t have the same problem, I live in Hampshire and it took Anglian 11 months to recectify leaks in our conservatory, from when they installed it.  Lots of broken promises, directors of the company are a waste of space, i.e. no reply to letters/e mails. It seems that once they have your money nothing else matters. Good luck in your quest.

Had the Birmingham branch supply substandard products - everything came with defects and damage - the colour difference and the different profiles can be seen from a distance. They tried a further 3 times with replacement items and still couldn't provide any decent quality products or provide an installer who had a clue how to install the items. They couldn't even put a warranty on the products or workmanship. In the end, I used section 75 to release me from their incompetence.

Not Kent , I am in Cornwall and been fighting with this company for over 2 years. They seem to have absolutely no scruples regardless of whatever area they work from .

The CEO is where the problem lies with that company, I have been fighting with Anglian for over a year as my white UPVC started going yellow in 18 months they tried every trick in the book to say it hadn't . But to cut a long story short I took them to Small Claims Court on the Money Claims Online site and asked for a refund as Trading Standards said their work isn't fit for purpose and that they don't honour their warranty so you have the right to claim. In the end they were too scared to face me in court and they settled in full, they are all mouth but when it actually comes to court they won't go

Hi there it appears that my installation date of the 21st of March is no going ahead. I am not happy about a new install date that isn't until the 21st of April. We signed the Contracts back in November and were promised the work will be done in February. Why are there so many delays in resolving our installation and can we please have this resolved quickly we are not happy at all? Can we claim this is breach of Contract or force them to do he installation more quickly? We have been assured all the items are available to install. Regards Stefan Fisher

Hello - You need to talk or  the Customer Care Manager at their CEO office in Norwich. I went through the normal Customer Services and they were as much use as a bucket with a hole in it. So take your problem to the top of the chain which is this guy. Although I can't promise anything with Anglian as the whole firm seems pretty useless. Check the Sale of Goods and Services Act first to see if you have grounds to get your money back. If you can get out of the contract, then that would be great because the product once installed might turn out to be another further nightmare. Good Luck

Hi Stefan As I am still in the process of being taking to court by Anglian - even though they admit poor building work. your question about Breach of contract? Well due to Anglian arrogant attitude due to they are a Goliath company have nothing to loose but just one unhappy customer? They also have a in house legal team -- Did you have a agreed date in writing? If not you may struggle to prove breach of contract.. My advice is to ask for every correspondence in writing and do not speak on the telephone.. If you find it difficult writing letters record all telephone conservation for your own use-only. You can use recordings to help to assist you to record what was said. I also believe you can use them as evidence if required in court.. But I really hope it doesn't come to that for you... We are looking down a barrel of a gun with this horrible company. 'And Anglain if reading this I can prove how horrible and nasty you are'!! I will never recommend Anglain ever and will never sign a contract with anyone ever again. We have had a base and wall only for 16mths now. You image having paid two deposits amount to thousands of pounds, having that in your garden and none of it is your fault... If I can help you in any way please contact me but if not good luck... And don't let Anglian Ltd / Home improvement bully you!! kind regards

Hi, the best thing to do to get this resolved is to contact the main manager of anglian windows who got my very poor 8 year leaking window sorted out from Anglian windows not installing a lintel in my window. Other than that he should call trading standards & the ombudsman and report Anglian windows for breach of contract. I hope this has been of help. Kind regards

Hi there - Due to the ugly nature of this company, it would be money well spent to get some proper legal advice on what to do next e.g. if you can possibly get out of this contract that would be by far the best thing to do. Take some professional advice quickly and see what your options are before this goes on any longer. I hope you can escape from this.

Speak to trading standards and speak to your credit card company, if you paid money on a credit card to Anglian. Speaking to Anglian appears to be a waste of time - they are only interested in the money, not the quality or the customer service.

Do not bother with the ombudsman. Anglian ignore all their requests for information and then they still rule in their favour - despite the overwhelming evidence against them. The ombudsman admits to having no knowledge of consumer law or building regulations. Fensa are just as useless!
