TransferFX Currency Exchange

TravelFX has a rather smart looking site but please do not be fooled. I had transferred a four digit sum of money using faster payment services of my bank at 0930am after receiving an e-mailed reference number the night before. I then decided to give them a ring to ensure that I would receive my foreign currency in 2 working days. Rang the one and only number of 0207 from 0930 to 1100hrs - no one picked up and this was a Friday. My heart had never pounded so fast in that 90 mins, I desperately looked for positive feedback online, meanwhile e-mailing them about my transfer and requesting for an acknowledgement. This never came.

With a sunken feeling I rang my bank to ask if I could stop the payment and they said no as I have instructed it earlier to make the payment(of course). All these while from 0930-1130 I was in the process of reconciling with the possibility that I have lost a 4 digit sum. At 1130-my bank rang to confirm that I am transferring the monies to TravelFX, I had never felt luckier in my life. I told them to stop the payment - and they were able to stop it.

I dont know if I would eventually have received my foreign currency. But if I hadnt stopped the payment I would have probably died of worrying if TravelFX is a scam. They have so many affiliated sites online, and all operating the same telephone number- with no one picking up the phone nor responding to e-mails. I would not recommend at all...

I have used TransferFX foreign exchange and money transfer service 3 times now, and they have always offered me the best rates, saving me money compared to my bank and other companies. I can pick up the phone to my dealer any time, and they are very friendly and efficient.
