Bought mine 2nd or 3rd hand several years ago having already depreciated quite a lot. Impressively comfortable ride and fully loaded with leather etc. Don't want to have to get rid of it but it's been through 2 auto boxes and I understand this can be a common problem. When it works though, its very smooth. Love it.

I have Mitsubishi Galant 2003, and I am quite satisfied with it. When I bought I thought I would get a mileage of 27mpg but to my surprise I am getting 32-33 mpg on highways consistently.
The run is very smooth and acceleration is also cool. I have to use rental cars now and then due to official reasons....even if I drive 2008-2009 models, I can't stop comparing my car, even though mine is 2003 it still comes a winner.
I was driving Chevy Impala 2008 the other day....I missed my car so much.....
Love my car.......wish they can change the look and make it more stylish like the Accord or the Altima.

Will buy another Galant when -if ever- this one dies.

Although a superbly styled and engineered car, Mitsubishi couldn't quite crack the Jag-BMW-Merc market. Toyota had a go at it it with the Lexus range and did better.
If Mitsubishi tried again to compete in the luxury class, go back to the Sigma - not many improvements would be neccessary!

The Galant has been the best car I have ever owned. Even today the look of the car makes it stand out from others. The auto box has been a joy to use, and running costs (away from main dealer) have been no more expensive than a Mondeo. Even after 160k miles all the electrics worked and the car started first time every time. A fabulous motor and a sad day now it has gone to the great car park in the sky.

My only general comment --------> Where is the replacement???? The only thing that comes close is the grotesquely shaped Grandis! .... and that is not an estate but a people carrier. With more and more manufacturers producing estate cars, surely it's about time Mitsubishi replaced the Galant. If they did I'd be first in line.
