Unsatisfactory
The tutors did not respond and i lost my deadline. Had to resit. Please be sure you have enough time before your deadline to avoid what i went through.
Pleasant Experience
Easy website to navigate, I just entered my postcode and subject and found a whole list of tutors that I could contact for free. After discussing my needs with all the tutors I chose one who lived quite close to me. I paid a intro fee for his contact details which I thought was very reasonable. I also received a good response from the customer service team when I asking them questions. I would definitely recommend this service.
I Have Come Into Contact With A Student Whom Purch
I have come into contact with a student whom purchased my details. She tried a sneaky trick where she was an adult learner but asked for a younger students fee. After she purchased my details, I informed her of the services I offer, she informed me she had a child etc. So I told her that she would be charged the set price on my website, if she agreed. She said ok, I am busy and said she would come back later. I contacted her by telephone, by email by text, until I felt I was being a nuisance. Now the thing is I lost her as a client and also got blocked from UKtutors.com. They want me to pay a share of what I ear that's £15.60. Now the thing is, I have not made any money from this student so I emailed UKtutors all correspondence etc, yet nothing...I emailed them so many times, nothing. They want me to pay money to regardless. They are scammers, I am not sure is this student actually even exists, or if they just do this to nab money from people!!!
Excellent Service, Very Happy
I found the site easy to use and came across it searching on the internet. The best thing about it was that I was able to easily select 3-4 tutors in my area and start corresponding with each of them; I was able to ask lots of questions before making a final informed decision which tutor to select for my daughter.
I would definitely use the service again and would have no hesitation in recommending the site.
Watch Out
Be careful ... I chose a tutor - they took my registration fee so that contact details could be released - couldn't contact the tutor - he was out of the country and never came back. Contacted UK tutors who apparently had a computer system failure for a month and couldn't contact paypal to refund my money. They have suggested that next time I use them they will register me for free!!!! Like I'm going to do that!!!!
Communication with these people is nil - non existant and only happens after persistance. Still waiting for my refund. I know it's only £10 but how many other people have been stung??
I only left 1 star because it doesn't allow you to leave a nil rating.
Yes, I have just had the same experience. I paid a fee for a tutor who responded in detail about her services, claiming she could teach 4 different subjects. When I paid the money and received her details, I could not contact her by either email or phone. I have tried contacting UK tutors, to no avail. I don't think I will be using them again.
UK tutors is not a very good agency. After paying £20 to release the contact details, I called the tutor and apparently he had emailed them saying that I shouldn't pay £20 because his place was too far from mine. I never got an email or my £20 and I tried contacting them but its like they don't even exist- no phone number or e-mail address.
I Am A Tutor Who Finds Work Through Uk Tutors. It
I am a tutor who finds work through UK Tutors. It works well for me. I have recommended the site to other tutor friends who work in different parts of the country.
If You Live In The Uk, And If You Are Looking For
If you live in the UK, and if you are looking for a tutor/teacher for help with a wide range of subjects, have a look at UK Tutors. They have tutors around the country, and a postcode search allows you to easily find tutors in you area.
The site (wwww.uktutors.com) also contains advice for both tutors and students regarding lesson planning, first meeting with your tutor etc.
Unlike other tutoring sites, UK Tutors is not an agency, so you contact multiple tutors directly, and make the final decision to accept the tutor of your choice.
Tutors are able to set their own rates and subjects, as well as giving brief descriptions about themselves, as well as there tutoring experience and approach to tutoring.
