Suzuki RF 600 is a very good bike for going to work and back. Enough power if you need it. I think it will be as fast as a 600 in its class and model. I think this is the best buy in a long time. Handling is very good.

This is a good bike. If you like the looks, it goes well, handles nicely, and has a big bike feel. It may not have been the hottest thing when new, but find a nice one, and for not a lot of money, you can surprise some larger or more modern bikes. Engine is revvy but does have a good spread of power. Get 7/8K rpm and it takes off. Certainly surprised a friend who had a new Kawa ER6f. If your looking for a loony bike, look elsewhere, if you are wanting an easy to ride, quick 600, this could be right for you, for not a lot of money!

This bike is very nice thing to have and you wont be sorry if you buy it. I have one myself and i am pretty satisfied! it is priced very reasonably for what you get. its fast, reliable and looks amazing.

I bought mine 3 years ago when I'd been riding for a year on a Zephyr 550. I reckon I've just about found the limit now so I'm ready to move up (Daytona 955i).

The RF has never missed a beat engine wise and has enough horses to get into (and out of) trouble. The brakes are blinding, and now I've become more mechanically competent I find that the servicing of the brakes and the bike in general is really easy. Basic engineering on the RF, very easy to get to the internals and most home based mechanics will be able to do 90% of the required work.

Mine tops 140 and holds all day at 80-85. Comfy for around 170 miles in a day too. Short enough for those of restricted leg size, yet tall enough for me (6ft). Fuel economy is OK, around 135 to reserve and approx £12 to fill.

Recommended? Yeah, too right. If I could keep 2 bikes I'd have no qualms about keeping it in the garage too, just for those odd days when I fancy something a bit different.

I bought this Suzuki RF 600 as a beginner bike (July 2006). I have had at this point 2 years riding experience on an Aprilia RS125 so stepping up to this type of bike was pretty daunting at first.

I bought the bike on a K reg (1992) for £400, it needed some slight work doing to get it to MOT standard but in all honesty it was relatively nothing.

I have to say as much as I love this bike it is now time to get rid and go for something else, but please don't be fooled as this decision is nothing to do with the bike, in fact far from, as I am keeping it as a 2nd bike.

The RF is a nice smooth bike to ride, it has a very good power band and for a "newbie" like myself, was an excellent choice.

The handling of this little beasty is awesome, you can throw it around like their is no tomorrow which is quite surprising considering it's quite big and bulky. However, if you were some slimline bod with nothing but skin and bone then I predict you may not have the same opinion when riding it.

As for the top end performance of the bike, it's pretty good, the bike has seen the needle at 150mph on the clock (On the track of course!) and given the extra distance on the road may have gone a little more??!

My only gripe with the engine of this little beasty is the fact it's naff on its low end, up to 3/4k you might as well push it. To get a good off from the lights, you really do need to give it a fistful!

The cosmetics of the bike are pretty cool, it's a fully faired beasty with a Ferrari-like grills in the side panels which look pretty cool IMO, however if your considering getting a nice paint job on it, I would completely forget it! I may be just a bit crazy when riding my bike, but I have destroyed the lower belly pan fairing by having it cranked over in the corners, it has also took its toll on my pegs too! Now I don't know whether this is my riding or just the way the fairing sits but it does grind the floor when cranked over enough!

The brakes on mine are the original calipers! They are now slightly spongy but remain very responsive as and when I need them to be, especially the front brake (believe me despite its age they have got me out of some trouble). The back brake in all honesty is average at best, but being a fan of not using the back brake at all anyway (apart from when coming to complete stop) it does not really bother me too much at all.

I have a Yoshi can on mine with full stainless steel down pipes / some racing thingymedoofa (don't ask what it is as I could not tell you for love nor money) and it sounds ace at around 10k on the RPM but to be fair it's moderately tame at low revs, looks the business however and the bonus point is that it does not attract too much unwanted attention. (sorry officer, the baffles must have fallen out on the ride here! Whoops.)

I suppose I don't really have too many bad words to say about this bike, its reliability is without a shadow of doubt second to none as most of the parts on this bike are the original bits and it starts every time on the first click despite not having a nice roof over its head.

Is this the best £400 I have ever spent? I would have to say yes, however, if you are looking for a bike which you will remain 100% focused and interested in for a few years then this may not be the one.

It has its limitations and for an experienced rider they may feel this bike is a little bit tame, which is the feeling I am starting to get having only owned it for 3 months. This is not knocking the bike however, as I still love it and am keeping it despite buying a new 1000cc V-Twin.

The bike has my thumbs up!
