I Have Been With American Express For Some Time An
I have been with American Express for some time and have always had excellent service, but it took forever to address with their Customer Service once I questioned a charge on my Amex Card. Since then, for fear that I might not be reimbursed if an unauthorised entry is made, I have been leery of charging too much on the card.
Do Not Use Amextravel.com's Online Services To Boo
Do not use Amextravel.com's online services to book any tickets!!! The WORST customer service I've ever seen. I've been on the phone with them for three days and haven't been able to fix the issue. Our tickets for a flight leaving on a different date from a different location/city were changed by Korean Airlines. Instead of flying out of Las Vegas, we'll be flying out of Los Angeles. Since the travel department is not part of the American Express Platinum Department, they are unable to assist.

Avoid As Very Poor Customer Service
I have recently got approved to have a Gold Credit Card and activiated my card to make my first purchase, this was at a jewellers.
My card got declined and I called customer service who only advised that my account is under review and to use another credit card. So Amex advertise for customers to come onboard and yet here I am being told to use another provider.
I went home and complained to the Customer Service team this time someone from the Philipines and was advised the review team and complaints team operate only Monday to Friday.
I called on Monday then only to be advised we cannot discuss anything and I need to follow the instructions sent by post.
So to recap, Amex have sent a customer a card that is stating in a letter attached that it has been approved and activiated yet Amex have not completed there checks and refuse to speak to the customer or allow to raise a complaint.
You are better of and I have experience from MBNA or Barclays that there service is far superior than this sham. Exremely poor and rude customer service and will cause you more work than its worth and embarassment.
Unacceptable on all accounts.

The American Express Gold Card Has Plenty Of Incen
The American Express Gold card has plenty of incentives to use their card exclusively. The Rewards points are easy to accumulate when purchasing groceries, retail, airfare, and entertainment. The points can be used for an array of things including travel. Although you have to pay every month, this is a great card to increase credit and gain rewards points through. The customer service isn't the best as most of the representatives take forever to do something as simple as change your billing address. The wait times aren't long though which is a plus. You can even use this card as a stepping stone to a better card with greater credit limit and rewards benefits.

These Guy Are Robbers; Can't Talk To Them, Hard To
These guy are robbers; can't talk to them, hard to correct things, take 8 weeks to activate a change or an automate way of paying balance in full. They are all one way. I can't wait to ditch them which I will do in the next two or three weeks and I am sure they will take ages to actually close the account once I have paid it in full.

The Gold Card Has A Certain Prestige Factor. Onlin
The Gold Card has a certain prestige factor. Online management of your account is clear and easy to use plus you get reminder e-mails to pay off each month. Some of the insurance benefits can be re-assuring if you travel often.
I do not use the card very often as it is not widely accepted. I will very likely change to another American Express credit card (not debit card) to avoid the annual fee. The Platinum Credit Card or the Product Red Credit Card look better bets to me - it just depends whether you want to keep the pay back for yourself or give it to others!

I Had Always Considered American Express My Advoca
I had always considered American Express my advocate in all disputed transactions. Instead, I find that AE is a advocate for the merchant. Don't count on AE as a fair arbitor, and certainly not a consumer advocate.

I Have Had This Card For Nearly 18 Months Now. It
I have had this card for nearly 18 months now. It costs £100 a year to have one a few months ago it was up graded to a credit card. It has proved useful as when you have no money on you it will always be taken. When in a foreign country at the airport renting a car can be a problem without local currency but an American Express card will cover it. Mine is used mostly for emergencys.
I have now had the card for 8 years. I did not use it much as I had a 0% interest card as well and find that not many places take Amex they advertise a lot of places that just do not take it around my way. It is handy for buying stuff on ebay. If I lived in central or north London it would be more useful as it seems to be for 5 star hotels and posh restaurants.
I made a payment last month at Lloyds bank as usual, and I was surprised to see it was not credited to my account this month. I enquired about it, and I was told it would be credited. The problem was it had been put into the wrong account. I have never experienced this situation before, has anyone else?

After Spending A Lot Of Money Throughout The Year
After spending a lot of money throughout the year and always paying my American Express Gold CREDIT CARD In full before the due date, they were not loyal to me, one of their customers. I purchased an RV on Ebay for my son. I paid through Paypal, which hit my American Express. After bringing home the RV, and it raining, we found massive pouring water coming through the RV into the bed area. After ripping the stapled curtains and wallpaper off the wall, and removing the bed we found black mold and mildew. We got several estimates from reputable dealers that were beyond the price of the RV. The seller, who listed in his Ebay auction NO LEAKS refused to give our money back. I initiated my buyer protection from American Express after being assured by their kind representative that it sounded legitimate and it should be fine, and that I should win. I thus gave up my chance to use Paypal dispute process, since I used the time for AMEX dispute process.
Today I found out my loyalty was slapped in the face when they sided with the seller (who doesn't even use AMEX). I sent American Express Gold photos of inside the RV with the water pouring through, photos of the mold, letters from mechanics and the actual Ebay listing where it is clearly stated "no leaks".
I'm stuck with a lemon in the driveway, and AMEX said that he claimed we spent an hour looking it over. However, we would have had to tear the bed apart, remove the wallpaper and rip down the stapled curtains in order to see the damage, and most people don't tear down a vehicle when looking at it. He would have called the cops had we did that.
American Express lost a customer in me, who spends thousands per month and pays on time. Customer service should be better to keep a good customer.
