This Is The Second Time We Have Stayed At The Ches
This is the second time we have stayed at the Chester Grosvenor, and although we had a smaller room this time as we only booked a deluxe room (not a suite like last time), I was still not disappointed. We dined both evenings at the Grosvenor; the first night in the Brasserie, which was a very enjoyable meal, and although we did not have wine, we did have drinks during the evening, and we both had 3 courses. The bill was just short of £100, but you pay for what you get, and it really was lovely. The second night we dined in The Arkle, which is The Grosvenor's 3 Rosette restaurant. This really is for special occasions, as it is very posh and on the expensive side. However, again the food was excellent, and the service was brilliant. We are a couple who save up to go here. We have not got plenty of money, and we did think that we might feel out of place, but we were made to feel very welcome, and we did not feel at all intimidated. The bill cost £209 including service charge, which was an optional 12.5%, which may seem a lot, but we did get our stay at a special offer rate, which included the cost of the food, and so the food cost was deducted when we checked out.
All in all, we were very happy again with our stay, and we will be saving to go again next year.

I Booked A Night In A Deluxe Suite At The Chester
I booked a night in a deluxe suite at the Chester Grosvenor last year as a surprise for my husbands birthday. To be honest, I was not sure what to expect as I thought it might be a little snobby.
I was completely wrong! From the moment we were greeted by the concierge we were treated like VIP's.
Our room was amazing, and there was nothing at all out of place. It was absolutely immaculate! We even received a complimentary bottle of Champagne as they had been told by the luxury hotel brochure that we booked through that it was my husbands birthday.
We didn't get the chance to dine in either of the restaurants during our stay, but our breakfast was really enjoyable. And although we chose to have breakfast in our room they did not limit us to a continental breakfast, which a lot of hotels do. We had a full English breakfast each with the works, all brought to us at a time of our choice on a huge trolley.
We enjoyed our stay so much last year, that we are going again this year; once again for my husbands birthday. This time we have booked 2 nights in a deluxe room, and we have booked direct with the hotel, who have been very helpful, and they have also knocked down the price of our stay with it being my husbands birthday. We have also booked to dine in The Arkle award winning restaurant this year as an extra special treat.
I will update this review upon our return.
