I Have Used My Computer Both As A Development Mach
I have used my computer both as a development machine (mainly Java engineering), normal computer assignment and gaming without any problem. I have also inserted new parts such as wire less network card and graphics card. The interial is very nice and orgonised (not the nest of cables that you find in homebuilt systems).

Its a very good desktop (dualcore). No problems at all with the motherboard. Only I think the desktop is not Vista ready. But with all lot of upgrades for a few parts it works fine. I installed Vista ultimate on the system en with the upgrades (memory and HD) it goes perfectly. Even a game like assassins creed is playable on the graffics. I have the system now vers 1.5 year and not even a single problem. (It turns on day and night).

I Have This Desktop For About 1.5 Year And Is Work
I have this desktop for about 1.5 year and is works nice. No problems at all. Only vista ready is not really vista ready. You have to upgrade some parts before he is Vista ready. Like the memory en the HD. But when I upgrade this parts its a fast performance with vista ultimate. Even a game like Assassins Creed will play with the graffics high so I recommend this Desktop.

Good Performance And A Very Fast, The Motherboard
Good performance and a very fast, the motherboard functioned only 14 months in my experience which is the reason why I do not recommend this Dell Dimension 9150, as far as I am concerned Dell should last longer than that and I am not happy!

You May Want To Consider Another Manufacturer Befo
You may want to consider another manufacturer before buying this computer. Mine only lasted 13 months before the motherboard became dysfunctional. Since I missed my warranty date by a few weeks the motherboard is not covered and I will have to replace it myself. If you buy you had better get the extended warranty.
Funny, I had exactly the same thing happen to me. My motherboard is also dysfunctional after 13 months (no joke) of purchase and I too have to replace mine. Do you have any recommendations?
im never buying a dell again.

I Chose The P4 Ht (not Dual Core) System With 19"
I chose the P4 ht (not dual core) system with 19" lcd monitor and double memory. I upgraded the standard video card and opted for a DVD writer rather than combo drive plus I added a firewire card and wireless keyboard and mouse. It was delivered within 48 hours and the instructions for building the system were comprehensive (although I have done it before a couple of times). I have had no problems with the system whatsoever and would definitely buy from Dell in the future. It is quiet, quick and reliable and fits my needs perfectly (I use Word, Excel and the kids play their games on it).
nycsoutherngirl,
The PC will have a free PCI slot on the motherboard (you will see some at the bottom of the board when you open up the case). You can buy a PCI Firewire card for pretty cheap (over here, I paid around £20, so id guess around $25) which all you have to do is slot in firmly and screw in at the edge. The card I got had four Firewire sockets and I don't think it even needed drivers installing.
Dear Riker,
I am wanting to upgrade my 9150 (which I love as well) by adding Firewire capability once I buy a new camcorder. I thought I had already ordered Firewire when I first bought the system in November 2005 but I just realized I didn't. I haven't attempted to upgrade yet even though it seems like it should be a breeze, but I'm looking for guidance on whether or not I can do that with the Dimension 9150 and if so, what is the best route to take? I appreciate your thoughts.

The Dell Dimension 9150 Computer System Is A Great
The Dell Dimension 9150 computer system is a great build set up, and the upgrades are really easy to install. There is no need for screws, and I get hardly any noise from the tower.
It's a nice system, and you can upgrade to 4Gb DDR2, max 4 ram slots. PCI Express, 2 hard drive bays and 2 ROM reader bays. 380 watt's power supply, and depending on what specification you want to order, these systems can come with 19 inch monitors. They're perfect for high resolution games.
