Fantastic bike, not as fast as some I've owned but for the level of confidence it gives and the all round usability I can't fault it in any way. 114,000 miles so far and still going strong.

I've owned 74 bikes - this is my third R1100gs and am convinced that this is the best value for money all rounder available today. Signicantly easier to ride than both the GS1150 and adventure this bike will not dissapoint.

You can ride from one end of the country to the other and walk afterwards, Edinburgh to Luton with one stop en route...easy! My BMW R1100GS 1085 has 70,000 miles on the clock and it's done more than that. My sports bike and I wouldn't really want to ride off road, especially if it needed to be picked up a lot.
If it needs to be used day in day out, do lots of miles and be your main transport, plus touring, plus visiting friends, plus..., and if you want a shaft, it's this or a Deauville, enough said!
