“meets all my needs”

★★★★☆

written by BrendaHanafi on 26/04/2017

Just had my bed for a couple of weeks and am really pleased. Meets my mobility height needs etc. Good advice to have a stronger frame than needed due to the frequency of moving head and feet up and down customer service good and delivery excellent with good explanation of use of bed and warranties etc. Sleeping well!

“Morning please don't come I 'm so comfy.”

★★★★☆

written by on 03/10/2014

I am pleased with my adjustable bed -the motor is so quiet compared to others I have used and a massage before sleep does reduce aches in joints so helps mobility during day. The only thing I do not like is the pile on the headboard covwering and now would have prefered a smooth surface.

“Twin single Abberley Adjustable Beds”

★★★★☆

written by 40Pope on 02/10/2014

My wife and I are very happy with our purchase and would strongly recommend Abberley as suppliers. They have been excellent from the start, which included a visit to the HQ near Southend. This visit was entirely the right thing to do, as the adviser gave us as much time as we wanted to inspect their wares and ask questions. From this time forward we were impressed with the Firm - the quality was great and the pricing structure was transparent and clear. The beds and all accessories we ordered were all delivered within the time slot we were given, and the van driver was well equipped mentally to set up both beds with all additions. However, I did tidy up the many wires under the bed which had been all bunched together under one large cable fastener. The ultralux mattresses are superbly comfortable. We haven't tried the massage units yet. The "teach-in" instructions for setting up the floating 13A mains sockets to operate form the handsets could have been clearer, but I found my way round them. I dropped one point off my overall score because I have one gripe - with the reverse system. I'm afraid I find this very disappointing in several ways. First, the backwards travel is far too little - about 10" - and nowhere near brings the bed-headback far enough. This means that it is useless to regard it as a means of (say) getting back to pour a cup of teas on a table at the bedhead. Second, the backwards movement does not begin as soon as the backrest is programmed to move up, so that small backrest ups stay put. This loses valuable time when the reverse could be engaged, which contributes to the first point above. Third, the maximum (miserable) backward movement is only achieved when the backrest is at a very steep angle - not far off vertical! and this is unsatisfactory. Clearly, all three of these criticisms are interlinked, and could all be cured by one change to the design. I would be interested to have your comments on this point, and I feel it is something you could well take up with the suppliers. If the design can be changed to cure these faults do please let me know. I would be delighted if the system could be changed.

“Review of our adjustable bed”

★★★★☆

written by on 20/06/2014

This is quite a remarkable bed. We bought it because we felt it suit our situation. To be honest, we've only had it a few days, so haven't fully utilised all the facilities, but that will come. We were very delighted at the professionalism of the fitter who brought it. We new it would be a little difficult getting the mechanism up our narrow stairs, but it was accomplished without a mark or scratch on the walls, and that wasn't easy. So far there's nothing I don't like, albeit I'm still getting used to the controls. It's very high-tech! I think I studied the specification well enough before purchasing, so there was nothing that particularly surprised me. A good bed.

good service, on time delivery and setup, tidy looking bed, not intrusive, easy to use, old fashioned bedding, ie. top sheets, a bit awkward, but otherwise good investment.

I arranged to buy an adjustable bed for my 93 year old father who has mobility and sleep problems, he has found the bed to be very comfortable and great that he can adjust the back so he can sit up and read in bed, also he finds lifting the feet comfortable. The service from Abberley was good and efficient overall we are very pleased with everything! The experience was positive with no negatives whatsoever.

After searching for an adjustable bed for some time, it was nice to find a company who would actually give you a price over the phone and not insist on sending a rep to your house!

I have a condition in my hips, which causes significant amounts of bone pain everyday. I also have a bad back and shoulders, which is muscular. I am debating between going with Abberley or going with Tempur. Does anyone have experience of beds from both companies? Thanks.

I would definitely go with Abberley for a number of reasons. 1. You can get a memory foam matress from them just like tempur. 2. The adjustable nature of the Abberley bed enables you to find just the right position for your condition. Before I bought an Abberley bed I had a similar condition to yours. I could not sleep for more than 40 - 50 minutes at a time before I either had to turn over or get up. Now I sleep throughout the night with only the normal calls of nature to cause me to get up. My wife and I both love our Abberley beds but we both agree that the massage (vibrate) function is a waste of time. A gimmick at first but now we never use it. 3. The people at the Abberley shop are very helpful and do not put you under pressure in any way. I drove down from Durham to Essex to look at the beds and the setup there and was most impressed. Hope this helps GFB

We live in Hulbridge Essex (Nr Rayleigh). We currently have a twin adjustable bed (2 singles joined). My wife says we've had them 12 years. A couple of the slat supports on her side have collapsed and I've had to repair them. It's time for replacements. Does this company charge for delivery? Will they dispose of the old carcass for us? Where is the nearest showroom? Do they do the Memory foam/spring mattresses? Just seen, Purdey Ind Est Rochford. What are the opening times?

I am not sure of the answers to you questions except that the matresses are entirely of foam, either memory on latex or pure latex. Their address can easily be found on the abberly beds website. I should get in touch with them if I were you. They are totally non persuasive and a pleasure to deal with. They are definitely not pressure salespeople and will give you plenty of time and space to make up your own mind. I bought a couple of beds about 2 years ago and have been thrilled with them. I did drive down to Essex from Durham to see their setup with which I was very impressed. I was extremely satisfied with the deal I received. They even gave me a couple of sets of sheets etc because I did not require a headboard. You can't go wrong by contacting them at least.
