overall good, i currently use 1, have been using the Nokia N73 for 2 years now, and it's the second new 1 , the 1st 1's joystuck stopped working after 6 months, i have taken extra good care of the new 1, the phone seems to slow down after a bit and i find i need to reboot every now and then, the colour fades off the face and back of phone, the camera slide seems to become too sensitive and closes the camera if you touch in the wrong place, but good day to day phone.

All the negatives ive heard of for the N73 have happened to me, (though i've just fixed the main one) but i've also benefited from all the positives it has to offer, which is why I still really like this phone and I'm still using it after 15 months, I even gave my 12 month upgrade Sony Ericsson phone to my girlfriend because I preferred this one!

On the face of it the N73 was the right the phone to choose when I was in the market. It wasn't the uber expense of something like the N95 and it wasn't an entry level or dated piece of technology.
I feel like I am always going to be a Nokia user because you go with what you know in many respects when choosing replacement technology for your current piece!
The phone, its good, quality Nokia build as with almost all their products I have owned. The major draw back with this phone's design is the joystick. It's going to wear out over time with use but more over it gets bashed in your pocket and has, although it is yet to happen to me, dislocates like a shoulder popping out which makes it hard to use.
Sound quality is very good and the screen is exceptional.
I fancy that my reception mark reflects the service recently from my provider rather than this equipment.
The only real gripe I have is that the N73 (as well as the N series phones according to a shop assistant I spoke with) will over time become slow. The navigation between screens is poor after time. I have cleared out memory as much as I can to try and ease this but it is a firmware issue. Apparently you can get fixes for this. Indeed you can. It lasted 2 weeks before I tried the same tact but it hasn't worked a second time.
I'll complete my contract on this phone but I will wait a little longer and maybe get something a little less 'new' at the time of upgrading.

I've had this phone for a couple of months, having previously owned a Sony Ericsson K608i, and overall I am impressed with it. Although it can be slow to respond, I haven't experienced the wait times of 2-3 minutes mentioned in other reviews. The lack of automatic keypad lock is immensely frustrating, thank goodness I've got free web browsing on my tariff, although it has already cost me one unplanned download and the embarrassment of the music player going off at work in loudspeaker mode. Nokia suggest using the phonelock, but then you have to enter a 5 digit code every time you want to use it and then can't even voice dial using a headset without unlocking it each time.
Other bad points: The days of Nokia's having the best by far User Interface are gone. It's annoying when texting to have to scroll through every symbol offered under the 1 key before the phone offers you the option of inserting a symbol from the symbol matrix. I miss my Sony Ericsson listing the last 10 people I sent a text message to so I don't have to go into contacts for my most frequent textees and being able to skip forwards/backwards by months/years in the calendar using the keypad. The music player isn't loud enough for the tube and jumps from quiet to LOUD without enough intermediate settings. You have to choose the picture for your screen saver carefully otherwise you can't read the calendar entries that appear on the standby screen. What exactly does Synchronisation Public or Private mean when setting up a calendar entry? I could guess but the manual won't tell me. It's annoying that when you get to the end of some lists it won't loop you back to the beginning you have to scroll back up to the beginning. Small gripes, but they should have been picked up and fixed pre-production.
Apart from that, sound quality, screen quality and battery life are good (if you only turn on Bluetooth when you need it) web browsing is good and the voice dialling is brilliant. Overall a very good phone but the little niggles are all the more annoying for being so easily resolved.

I used to have a 6230 and 6230i so this is a major improvement. Just wish it was a bit quicker and had a better flash. Although I do all my file transfers through Bluetooth it would be nice to have Macintosh support with the CD so I can use the USB a bit more. Another function missing that I used a lot on my other phones was a countdown timer.
In general - I really like this phone. I was going to upgrade it to an N80 when it came round but i think I'll wait for the N95!!

The Nokia N73 is a good but very expensive phone, with only small things wrong with it.
