I Would Recommend Walkabout In Manchester To Anyon
I would recommend Walkabout in Manchester to anyone, especially on a Saturday night, its just a good laugh in a nice environment. Plus New Year here is really good, though saying that I have usually consumed a lot of alcohol by the end.
It's my favourite place in town and as a 23 yr old I just love the mix of people and music from different years.

Manchester Walkabout - Only Been In Here Once And
Manchester Walkabout - Only been in here once and like the other reviewer that was to see the infamous Dr Karl Kennedy. Before that I didn't actually know where Walkabout was situated in Manchester. It's not somewhere I would particularly go on a night out. It's a massive place though so I imagine at the best of times it looks empty, because it has an upstairs and downstairs. However I think if the location changed it would be a more desirable place to go. I presume like other Walkabouts though you don't have to pay an entrance fee and the drinks are reasonably priced as they normally have deals on certain beers and shooters.

Manchester's Walkabout Is Located On Quay Street A
Manchester's Walkabout is located on Quay Street and although I have frequented it quite often it has only be to see Dr Karl aka Alan Fletcher from Neighbours. On these occasions the crowd has been great with a real student pull. The drinks are quite expensive but they do sell Tooheys New and if you have ever been traveling down under you will appreciate the deliciousness of this amber nectar. It is a live music venue and creates a great sound however it is more used for sporting events with the large pull down screen at the front with numerous screens to ensure you don't miss a beat. On the weekend they have club nights although I have never been I have on good authority that the music is a mix of hardcore dance and cheesy pop.
Thought out the day they have a bar menu with special deals and promotions on drink This I have found to be quite good value and I have even tried the Roo burger. On week day evenings the bar is usually quite quite which is a shame as it is such a large venue. The main problem I feel is the location as there is not quite in the hub of the City Centre although they do pull in a good crowd after the shows in the Opera House.
Overall this is a above average bar but would whole heartily recommend Dr Karl evenings that happen every May and November.
