l love hearing from the club and the selection cannot be beaten. l have boasted about being a member to everyone l know. l accept there are many wine clubs and shops but l will only shop with the times club. there are times when l think the waiting time is forever for the delivery but l now make sure l have enough wines and so the waiting is not forever. thank god. once again thankyou for being there for me. laird of camster

I am puzzled by some of the criticism in a few of the reviews. My experience with the STWC over many years has been excellent. I have checked other wine clubs at various times and discovered that they assume the customer already has a good knowledge of wine before ordering. As I knew very little about wine when I first ordered from the STWC, I found the monthly promotional literature provided much more information than was available elsewhere. As a result I have the wine club to thank for my improved knowledge of wine, and for introducing me to what has become something of a hobby. The quality of the wine has always been superb, once or twice I have ordered wine that has not been to my taste, but have had no difficulty in replacing it for an alternative. I like the lack of pomposity, and the emphasis on simply enjoying the wine. I have no hesitation in giving a five star rating to what is surely a unique company.

I've been a member of the Sunday Times wine club for 8 years. It is outstanding. The wines are almost without exception excellent. I don't have to wander along the supermarket shelves wondering what might taste good - I just leave it to them, knowing that I will get a great variety and that they will all taste great.
The best part of the deal, however, is the call centre. While every other call centre seems to be the other side of the world and staffed with people who don't have a clue, these people are polite, knowledgeable and just a pleasure to deal with. They also invariably answer the 'phone within two rings and there is no 'please select from the following options' irritation.
I am so impressed with this company that I wrote to them a couple of years ago to say so - something which I've never done before.
I even work for a supermarket and get a staff discount, but still get my wine from these people.
Right - gushing over. Bet they'll be rubbish the next time I 'phone them!

A friend introduced me to The Sunday Times Wine Club earlier this year. It worked out quite good value (opening offer was a crate of 15 mixed wines at about £2.70 per bottle). I also ended up with a ring-binder with info about each wine, plus a free wine cooler pack.
I have to admit that, having received my second crate just over a month ago, the wines are still working out at very good value for money. Plus, you get some very nice wines that are not easy to find elsewhere. I've had South African, Australian and even a delicious Hungarian red in my selections so far.
And none of the wines have disappointed me or anyone I shared them with!
Have to admit that I was quite sceptical about wine clubs initially. But I was pleasantly surprised by The Sunday Times Wine Club. It's a good way of getting into new wines (I've become a fan of Australian Shiraz...). And if you don't know the difference between a Pinot Grigio and a Pinot Noir, this is a good enough place to start.

I'm already a member of the Laithwaites Wine Club, but saw this Sunday Times Wine Club deal at a cashback site called Internet Cashback. I checked it out and noticed that this Wine Club is run by the same company as Laithwaites (Direct Wines Ltd). However they must run different databases because I could sign up as a new member and take advantage of their new member offer, getting 24 bottles for just £75.00! That's just over £3 a bottle for wines that are very good.

Don't expect your supermarket names to be present in their selection but do expect good wines. Even in the joining offer wine cases there's some bottles of wine that are normally £7 to £8 and the selection you get is excellent. On their website they have a massive choice of wines. They offer great discounts on a variety of different wines. There is also plenty of advantages, you regularly get wine accessories of a decent standard for free or cheap and there's regular money off coupons and vouchers etc.

£74.99 for 24 bottles of great wine and I even got 5 quid back through that cash back site. Hurray for the internet I say! Hurray for good wine!

My husband and I joined the Sunday Times Wine Club a few months ago, and we have been delighted with the choice of wines, the delivery and in particular the special offers.

Recently they sent me an offer, and I ordered three cases of wine and I with my voucher I saved over £90 - what a bargain. The wine, which is of excellent standard, worked out to be less than £3 per bottle. I must say my wine cellar is looking a lot more healthy these days, with a superb choice at all times.

Ordering is very simple, either over the phone or online - the staff are extremely helpful with advice on different types of wine, and try to sort out what is best for you ie., which region you prefer, the grape you prefer, old classics or new world - and they tailor the special offers to your needs.

Delivery is extremely quick. We could not be happier, and just wish we had joined earlier. I think we will be a life long member now. Highly recommended.
