I have been dealing with Voiptalk for many years without any problems........until I needed Customer support to help me out with a small thing.

I called to chase upy order and was told by a very rude , impatient girl that she could'nt help me and that I should call back later . Didn't take any details sounded the least bit interested in her job . Where does this company get the customer service staff from ? India ! I called later to speak to the manager and she was worse giving excuses that she was busy etc . Busy doing what exactly ?????

We have been using Voiptalk for some time now and although generally the service is reliable the customer support isn't. I downgraded my service to pay as you go 2 years ago and notified them in writing and received an email back as confirmation. However, when I noticed they were still charging me 2 years on they said I must of re-activated it (when it was not in my interest to do so and why would I after downgrading it) and so basically tough! No, sorry or compensation or anything. But I've paid £120 for a service I didn't use! Well - Thanks a lot to voiptalk. Be warned - check your bills regularly.

Great web set up service but beware if you need to talk to a person AS, if your not a business they chose who and what they reply to even if your going to spend more money with them they don't read what you say and you can never get an answer!

Support it terrible!!!
I logged a support call nine days ago and have not gotten any response other than a snotty response after threatening to cancel my account. I have now cancelled my account and still got nothing out of them!
Another very concerning thing is that they don't have one contact number for you to call if you have issues or need to speak to someone... ironic considering they are a VOIP provider.
Stay away and don't give them your money!

After sles service horrible. Everytime I asked for quick support, I had call them twice to get them speaking, firt time they will say he is out office, if you are lucky the second time he (ahmed Kasim) will apprer. BUt if you email them they will reply eventually within 2/3 weeks by then you are dead or sloved.
Very poor support from technical support Team.
Do Not try it.I am suffering this quict a lot.

I purchased a incoming DDI to use with an IAX trunk to my server, since setting it up, I have been unable to dial in and actually understand the person answering the phone, the quality is appalling. SIP phones locally and remotely are perfect, so I know it's not my end.
Anyway, I logged a support call on the 8th April and received a response from one of their team on the 9th April. Since them and repeated emails from me, I have not heard a single word from them despite me chasing them for an update. At this time, I have given them 24hours to respond or I will look into taking the matter further demanding a refund of monies paid and they will lose a customer.
I would personally steer well clear of VOIPTalk.

Terrible support. Had a problem saying I could ring out but in coming calls not working. Got an automated response saying they had logged my ticket then after repeated attempts to contact someone just could not get hold of anyone. Even their sales line couldn't be bothered to talk to me.

I'm on the silver service with VOIP Talk which is fairly pricey although still cheaper than my old Virgin landline. Had problems with voice dropping out on outgoing calls and the support was poor.

I have tried half a dozen providers prior to voiptalk and there were always niggles with them (incompatible hardware, calls dropped). It's hard to determine who is and who isn't a good provider but i suppose proof is in the pudding. I have also noticed that voiptalk has services geared for business which also means that I can get phone support if I buy one of the pricier services.

The difference between using my router with a standard pots analogue phone and a dedicated voip wifi handset is the first remains permanently "registered" and the second registers on and off all the time.
Seems to me that the tech problems are all connected with "registration". Constant registration works fine all the time, occasional registration screws up the system.
Throw in user error on set up sometimes and it's a recipe for unreliability. In the beginning I experienced every problem, Dropped calls, incoming call timeouts, bad quality, etc etc Hard to know if it's user error or technical trouble.
Now it's ok.
The £9.99/month "all calls inclusive" deal does not seem to be attractive to UK telephone users.

I have used Voiptalk on and off for over a year. The only real reason for the off bit is that I changed systems and suddenly it didn't work and required the time to set it up and troubleshoot. Configuration can be a pain when this happens (finding what the problem is)
If you consider the price point (low call charges and good facilities) I think the service is great - when it configured and up and running
I consider this an 'early adopter' service choice - meaning you get low prices and should expect to have to make some effort yourself to get it all set and sorted. Once sorted it generally just gets on with it.
I tend to think of it as "once it is working leave it alone!"
Call quality is mostly good and often better than normal landline: I am now going to try using it more often as my primary outgoing solution (with landline as backup of course).
I would recommend the free or Silver Service (gives incoming number and better call rates) - NOT the 9.99 per month option which is overpriced. The call rates are very low; as should be expected from VoIP
If you want a service that just works and offers instant support and fixes then this is not for you but if you are prepared to go the extra half mile they do what it says on the tin and you get great call quality for very low prices.
I have been talking to my family in Switzerland from UK for over a year for free. Great !

Unreliable service - one day it's fine, the next day dropping calls, poor line quality, number unobtainable. They have major quality problems to overcome before I would recommend them to anyone.

Automatic provision problems at VOIP talk(i.e. your bank gives them the money, but Voiptalk think not and then they don't allocate you a product) and you have to wait days for them to figure out they have got your money, and they eventually give you the service.

Great rates for International calls with VOIP Talk- 1p per min to Iceland, Cyprus, Sweden for example on their Silver package costing only £2.99/month with a host of other features and benefits included into the price.
Call quality is excellent using my VOIP router
Customer service answered my enquiry within 5 rings and provided me with very useful install and set-up information
To be honest - yet I can't really fault them - more features and benefits than the likes of Vonage or Sipgate - at a lower costs without sacrificing quality of service - to me this means I'm getting VFM (value for money)

If you want to use VOIP, I suggest you find another provider that provides a little support than VOIP Talk.

The idea behind Voip, and please correct me if I'm wrong, is to provide us, the consumers, with LOW COST telephone calls through our broadband connection.
Quote from website:
With our VoIPtalk Unlimited residential package you can make unlimited calls to UK and international destinations from as little as £9.99* per month.
Hang on a moment!! I wish no disrespect, but £9.99 for unlimited may sound cheap, BUT THIS IS VOIP! I can get it for less with my landline through the likes of Toucan or Talk Talk.
Come on guys. You need to halve your prices at least before people will even consider Voip from you.
