I bought the ring we wanted, after my partner getting measured in store by a member of staff the ring came back and it was too big, they then resized it and it after measuring a second time it is still slightly too big. When shopping online there was a 15% discount promotion offer at the time, on checking out there was no area to apply this discount, I continued as I thought there must be a place later on in the checkout process. There was not, instead they gave a free gift which is made of leather which you had to select to compete the process, I contacted them and made them aware of this as both me and my partner are vegan and I found it ridiculous. They have made no efforts to rectify this issue. Very disappointed as we wanted to support a Welsh company and local ethically mined materials. Gutted

I am having to get police, ombudsman and credit card company involved as they have taken my money and broken the law. i’ve sent 15 emails since i was legally due my refund. they’ve been replying for weeks saying their accounts department is ‘looking into it’ but no refund ever comes. ****read reviews on other sites - they pull this stunt all the time*** they are breaking the law by not providing refund within the legal timeframe. i am still sitting here today without my refund. please don’t buy from these people

Very poorly made jewellery, if you are thinking of buying a lifetime piece of jewellery for someone, I would recommend looking else where to avoid upset in the future. My sister had her engagement ring for Beaverbrooks, the quality is great, the ring still looks like new nearly two years on and the customer service is second to none. I’ve had my engagement ring for a little over two years and despite not wearing it for bed, in the shower, gym, swimming pools or to do any other household tasks two of the arms holding the diamond in place have SNAPPED!! Apparently this is my doing through wear and tear! Absolutely impossible!! The diamond is now lost and was the only part of the original ring I had (due to resizing). As soon as I noticed I went straight home from work to look for it, looked in my car and the car park! I only had it on to come to work and I work in an office! Please tell me what wear and tear allows a ring to last a little over two years? I’m devastated! My husband saved a long time to buy the ring and now I’ve been told, just before Christmas as well, I need to pay hundreds of pounds for a replacement! I’ve shown images of the ring to several people and they were disgusted and thankfully have realised never to buy from Clogau as the quality is so poor! People I have shown the ring to, have had their engagement rings 20/30 years and they are still in one piece. Please, if you’re buying a piece of jewellery with a priceless meaning for a loved one, do not buy it from Clogau or you will end up like me, loosing a piece of an item which carries so much invaluable meaning, which I can assure you, a member of the customer service team will have no appreciation or sympathy for! I would never normally log a complaint online, however, I really don’t want people to have the same experience!

I purchased the Kensington necklace for my daughters 40th birthday, however she has only worn it a few times as the extension chain is too long and keeps knotting and twisting around the main chain and clasp, it’s taken her ages trying to untangle so she remove it. Like a previous reviewer my father was Welsh so I too have a tie to this “welsh jewellery”. I contacted Clogau and explained and they said to send back and that they would investigate. I have asked them to remove the long extension chain free of charge but they ignored that and just said to send back. This will cost me £6 just to return as the value is £200 and needs to be insured, on top of that I’m sure they will charge me for the removal of the chain and the I expect I will need to pay again for them to return it to me. As the chain is a simple silver one I have ordered a new silver chain from eBay £4.75........much cheaper and quicker in the long run. Looking at other reviews I will not be purchasing from Clogau again and would definitely not recommend. Also it is interesting as to why all there reviews on their website are 5stars?

I had the celebration bracelet with the bubbles all the way around. First time that the catch broke i just thought ok, it happens. 2nd time it snapped where the bubbles join. 3rd one has broken when taking it off after the latch wouldn't close. I LOOK AFTER MY JEWELLERY i have plenty of other makes and no problem. Unfortunately one of the sales assistants also wasn't as pleasant with a return as when selling. Really sad as it was a well thought out present.

I had my 50th birthday recently and my boyfriend bought me a necklace from the Clogau Cardiff store. Everything was fine until I wanted to register the free 2 year warranty. I followed the instructions and did it online, the purchaser was to receive a confirmation email. After a week or two no email was received. So I was in Cardiff and called into the shop to explain. The staff member was not helpful at all.I had to ask her to ring up and find out whether the necklace was registered and she just pulled a face but she did do it reluctantly. She said after a phone call that there was no trace of the registration. She gave me another warranty number for me to go through the registration again. I did this and after all the information was re input the message at the bottom said there was already a warranty in place. Well how come this is the case when the shop rang them and there was no trace. What a shambles i won't be buying anything from the Clogau shop again.

I bought a Dwynwen opal bangle from an ebay seller as new. Within a day it had come apart, as soon as I nagged my wrist against anything, as the fastening of the heart is not strong and cannot withstand any knocks (ie normal life!!. I had it fixed but the same happened again the next day, so I've had it soldered. At least I can't lose the heart now, but again, it's not designed to be strong enough and so the clasp opens every time it is knocked. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT - IT IS RUBBISH!!!! I contacted customer services even though it is not under warranty as not bought from a jeweller and even they are rubbish - they suggested I send it to them for assessment. This actually impressed me until further clarification revealed that meant send it to them so they can tell me how much it will cost to repair a product that is not fit for purpose. I think Trading Standards may be my next stop - especially bearing in mind the other reviews. Also I'm not certain the bangle is actually silver as advertised so I shall have it tested.

This is the worst online company I have ever dealt with. Ordered necklace online for birthday gift. Necklace arrived in awful mess the chain was in one big knot so bad you couldn't unknot it. Lie one by company that it must have been done in transit. No way was this done in transit! Phoned and told to send back and I would have immediate refund and postage costs reimbursed. I did this after they had returned parcel for a week still no refund. Phoned and told sorry it would be refunded that day. Next day still no refund. Rung again and told sorry it would def be done that day. Two days later still no refund. Started to feel angry after being constantly lied to. Explained this to customer service who then told me it was PayPals fault they were putting a stop to refund. They had tried ringing them and no answer all day. As soon as I rung PayPal I got through yet another lie. PayPal told me there was no issues their side and a refund should be simple to give. They told me they would escalate case so clogau literally had to press a button for refund. Rang to say this to clogau and told accounts dealing with it and promised. Refund. No refund!!!! Please avoid at all costs!!! Found out recently that their gold isn't even Welsh gold only a trace it is Chinese so even lying about actual product. Will never ever buy clogau again.

Same happened to me. They have not refunded and weeks later are still making excuses and saying they are looking into it. People are fooled by the name - they really are not genuine. I’m having to get refund through my credit card as they have taken it! I hope people take heed and avoid them.

Paid online for my soon to be wedding ring Clogau accepted my payment told me 2 -12 days delivery. 14 days later still no goods. Contacted Clogau and was advised product wasn't even due in to store for another week. I will receive the product after 4 weeks or I can cancel the order At no point was I offered discount for Clogau keeping my money and not having the product advertised Trading standards is my next step and based on the previous review regarding 1% gold and made in China will never buy from them again. Absolute cn artists Just spoken to customer services and yes since 2005 you are buying less than1% Chinese manufactured gold!

I have previously sold Clogau gold for a stockist and was shocked massively by what I discovered. I totaly adored this brand before working with it but know wouldn't touch it with a barge pole! The jewellery is all made in China which Clogau try there best to cover up and the 'Welsh gold' in each product is only enough to achieve a hallmark ie less than 1%! Yet the jewellery costs hundreds of Pounds. more than other gold on the market because of said 'Welsh gold' totally a rip off! Don't buy. The silver jewellery brakes like mad and we had so many returns that we don't sell it anymore No integrity The silver annwyl rings were the worst. Every one we sold broke multiple times. Awful quality also turning peoples fingers black and earring stems brake off all of the time. Even the compose rings brake all the time. Head office take weeks to repair anything probably coz they get so many bloody returns. Head office staff are useless and nasty and really don't seem to give a hit to be onest. The staff in there stores and stockists seem a lot more helpful on the hole but have there hands tied by the terrible company. There website filters reviews to make the company look good two! I would never buy this tin for anyone o cared about and would tell anyone and everyone I could to steer clear. Pleas spread the word to everyone this is unacceptable. The mine closed in 1998 and yet still going and expanding sounds dodgy to me! Not an investment or something to keep or pass down it will brake in a week or two. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have just received rose gold and yellow gold heart locket with acorn I have waited for years to buy something from Clogau as my late mother was from same area and intend to pass on to my granddaughter. I saw it on sale for £500 and when went to purchase it gone up to £650. Was so excited and felt emotional. Disappointed. It weighs nothing and cannot believe such a price put on such a small unsubstantial piece of jewellery. I have little money and this was a big investment for me as well as family connection to the area. Will not be recommending.

The bracelet I purchased was everything I expected after looking at the photograph of it online. It arrived within two days of ordering. The bracelet was beautifully packaged. It has been made very professionally with much attention to detail, It also comes with a two year warranty and has its very own certificate encompassed within the Clogau Booklet you receive. Oh as an added extra, a cleaning cloth for your jewllery purchased is enclosed. I would most definitely purchase from Clogau again.

There is nothing special about their gold. It is rose gold that everyone carries. Don't try to work with the company on customer service. They ignored my e-mails. I will never purchase Clogau again.

Been looking at this bracelet rugby ball charm on line for some time, but when received it as a gift I was very disappointed as the amount of gold on the charm was miniscule. For the price it was very poor value, in future will look elsewhere for two tones charms.

I bought my wife some Origin earrings and a Love Vine bangle for a 30th wedding anniversary present. I got them from an authorised seller on board a P&O cruise ship. The earrings snapped first time on, and the replacements were no better quality. I was promised a refund of the (more than £6) postage, which has still not arrived two months later. Then the bangle fell off her wrist after only a couple of uses. I rang up and was assured that I would be entitled to a refund, so sent the items back (again at my own cost, this tome over £7 - still no postage refund) only to be told by a very rude and unhelpful customer service agent that I couldn't get my money back after all. I had to contact the shipping companies retailer, and get them involved, but while I was in negotiations with them Clogau imposed a replacement on me, despite my specific instructions otherwise. So we are now £14 out of pocket, and awaiting the return of two items of jewellery which my wife will NEVER wear due to both the poor quality and the upset associated with them. I wouldn't recommend Clogau to anyone, even as a last resort. Absolutely atrocious.

Bought T-Bar bracelet, when I informed Clogau that it was undoing on it own accord, and that one had been lost. They said this is a known fault - but don't inform the buyers when procuring and have not recalled, but would fit a security chain if I wanted. Daffodil charm - snapped off, replacement snapped - so flimsy not fit for purpose Rope bracelets - come undone and fall off - if you want a security chain fitted to prevent this, you have to pay. Not worth what they are selling them for - am off to Pandora

Eternal love bracelet bought for me on daughters wedding day. It snapped so did the next one. Exchanged for eternal hearts bracelet and that's turned black. Absolute rubbish!!

Same happened to me. I am having to claim back through my credit card. I hope people avoid them so they don’t have to go through the hell I have with them.
