We Had A Great Holiday And Would Go Again But Prob

We had a great holiday and would go again but probably before our son reaches 12/13. As it's quite isolated it's not really suitable for couples or families with older teen children. The facilities and entertainment are very good but they cater mainly for German / Italian guests. Bearing all this in mind I'm sure the holiday would be as great as our's was.

Very Enjoyable Experience. Great Hotel And Facilit

Very enjoyable experience. Great hotel and facilities - try the wave pool, but don't forget your rubber ring!! Taxi's were ' 10 in either direction where there was plenty of things to do when you arrived. The harbour is lively at night. Tingaki is quieter than Kos town, but just as much fun. When booking, I was told that we'd have a studio, but it turned out that we had been allocated an apartment. They are large, clean, good bathrooms and we had an excellent review of the grounds from our room. The outside bar was fabulous, although, as it is right next to the beach (approx 20 metres), you felt the breeze when the waves were high. The all inclusive program meant just that, everything was included. The pool bar manager (George) was fantastic at his job and a native of Kos Island, spent time with everyone and just before the all inclusive cut off time, he'd make his way around the bar with a fresh round of drinks for everyone, just in case. The food was good, plentiful and very varied. They would also make you a packed lunch if you had a late or early flight or a day drip planned.

The German and Dutch guests got the best treatment, the entertainment was all in German, as was the childrens entertainment. We have no children, but I would sympathise with those that do if they don't speak German. It was quite easy to follow and they did their best to involve us, so points for effort.

Location Is Great If You Like Isolation, Taxis Are

Location is great if you like isolation, taxis are quite cheap into Kos town and Tingaki but is 10 Euros for a 10 min ride - (fiddle going on with hotel.)

There is a bus but this is infrequent.

Very important out of 1300 people there were 5 English families the rest were German and European so hence everything was in German.

Entertainment is rubbish no professional acts at all. Desperately boring at night.

We were all in bed by 10 at night and that was because we stretched it.

No kids club unless they speak German. My two children had a great time in the pools (age 8 & 6) but were not included or asked to take part in the kids club. So were bored on some occasions as it was a German entertainment team.

The rooms are lovely but not cleaned very well and some had great views of the sea and the Turkish coast line.

The sunbeds were all taken at 06.00 hours every morning and we had to get up at that time to get 2 for 4 people.

Bar was OK, good choice and not watered down although you had to queue.

The arrogance of other guests spoiled our holiday and although we enjoyed our stay I did not enjoy getting up extremely early on a holiday. We ventured out a couple of times to neighbouring towns and decided we would have been better staying somewhere else. We made our own holiday not the hotel and staff as you would expect.

This hotel was overbooked by 150 people and those poor people were moved to a lower star 18-30's hotel in Kardamena so please check before you go as they were gutted and rightly so!

I know this sounds really bad and to be honest all the English families we spoke to will say the same but as I said before we did have a nice holiday as the weather was superb in the 40's most days and there was plenty of drinks on offer to help pass the time!

Try it for yourself, I have been to all inclusive hotels for the last 12 years and would go back to most of them! But not this one.

After Reading The Terrible Reviews About The Kos A

After reading the terrible reviews about the Kos Aqua Beach Club on other review sites, I cried the day before we left. I needn't have. We had a great week and didn't want to come home!

My party consisted of myself, my husband and five kids aged 13, 12, 10, 8 and 7. We had two one-bedroomed apartments which interconnected, meaning we had four bedrooms and two bathrooms. This was great! The rooms are very well appointed, lovely and spacious, and with amazing high ceilings if you are upstairs, which we were. Brilliant jet showers in the bathrooms, and friends of ours had a jacuzzi bath!

The pools are the best bit of the KABC. Lots of waterslides and hours of fun for the kids. The bottoms of the pools are a bit scratchy, and I think we all got a couple of grazes but nothing major. The pools and slides are cleaned morning and night, and they never looked dirty.

There are a few areas around the pools that are a bit boggy. They don't cause offence unless you happen to step in them, and then they're a bit squelchy! As long as you are careful they don't cause a problem. We thought they were probably caused by overflowing from the sprinklers or the beach showers. They are certainly not raw sewage as mentioned on previous reviews.

The "man-holes" were not the safety issue I was expecting. They were small maintenance holes clearly covered by bright green lids, and I only saw one open on one occasion whilst maintenance was being carried out. They do not pose a danger unless you cannot see bright green as you walk.

The beach is not too bad, nothing special but a beach none the less. Difficult to build sandcastles as the sand is so fine, much to my daughter's annoyance! It is man made and so not your typical beach, and it is rocky in places so shoes are needed to get into the water. The sea is fairly clean, a bit of seaweed but no litter or anything. The sunbeds are free and always available.

The food was fairly good. Some meals were better than others, but we all found something we liked at every meal. Yes there are chips available all the time, but that is to be expected. There were gorgeous salads, various meats, fish, rice, potato dishes, vegetables and traditional Greek foods too. Lots of fruit, ice-cream and scrummy cakes for dessert. We never had to wait to get tables, although we did see some people queueing when we were leaving the restaurant some evenings. 8.30pm seemed to be the busiest time.

One drawback to the all-inclusive programme was the fact that the pool bar was closed during the evening meal times of 7.30-9.30. This was a bit of a nuisance when we were watching the children's entertainment without a drink. The poolside bar also serves food during the day; mainly cake, pizza and burgers, but they didn't look particularly appetising and weren't available all day long. I think this was one of the main points we would pick up on. They also seemed to run out of ice-cream at around 5pm each day! But other than that, the drinks were good and readily available.

The staff work really hard. The housekeepers and waiters are very friendly, and those in reception always keen to help. The restaurant manager could do with learning to smile, but nothing is perfect!

The entertainment was pretty good. For the first couple of days we were a bit disappointed with what was on offer, but it improved through the week. At first, there were 4 children's entertainers who run the children's club in the morning and then put on a kids disco at night. They were obviously tired and overworked. Halfway through the week four more entertainers from Corfu arrived to lighten the load. They put on some cabaret shows and spiced up the evenings a little. The children enjoyed the kids club, and particularly the high energy dancing in the evenings. Adult entertainment was a bit hit and miss. There were some sports activities on during the day but these weren't really highlighted unless we had a look on the notice board. The evening entertainment for the adults involved quizzes like "Mr and Mrs", "Sprint it to win it" and "Battle of the Sexes" - light-hearted fun. The majority of the entertainment was aimed at the British guests, and very little was translated into other languages.

The hotel is fairly isolated and too far away from the resort centre to walk. We hired a car, not through the hotel as it was very expensive, but through a company in Kos Town, where it worked out to be 50 Euros cheaper.

There is a small shop on the complex selling newspapers, magazines, sweets, drinks, lilos, souvenirs and so on, and we didn't need to go out to buy anything else.

The hotel is marketed as a 4*. At the current time it isn't, but it has so much potential that when everything on offer is up and running it will be. We have no doubts that in a year or so this will be a very expensive holiday destination, and that the minor problems there are will be ironed out and put down to teething problems. The comments we read before we left really put a dampener on what should have been an exciting time for our family, and seem to have been written by perfectionists expecting a 5* holiday at 3* prices.

All in all, we had a great holiday, and we would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

We Had A Great Time At The Aqua Beach Club In Kos

We had a great time at the Aqua Beach Club in Kos - two adults, and children aged 10 and 5. Everything you need is on-site and all close together; even the beach is right there by the pools. The all-inclusive works well with ice-creams, snacks and drinks on demand. Being brand new, the hotel is well-equipped, the apartments well thought-out, and there is effective air-conditioning everywhere. Whilst it isn't local to any villages, there was a daily bus into Kos Town to do your souvenir shopping and get away from the resort for a couple of hours. Staff were friendly and helpful. We were very impressed, and we will consider going back there.

We had a last minute holiday 19 July 2006 and did not encounter anything that you have stated in your letter of complaint apart from the childrens entertainment early one night, we really enjoyed our week and are trying to book for this summer 2008, the pools were great the food was great and the staff were friendly and the rooms were clean (brand new towels no less) and no we are not reps, our twelve year old son had a fantastic holiday playing football, playing in the pools and a couple of dad's hired a quad bike the kids were in seventh heaven and he made lots of friends and so did we, looking forward to this year. ps we have great photos from our holiday

We too had a great time at the KABC. It's not even close to being as bad as this letter of complaint suggests. There are a few minor isues, teething problems in my opinion, but overall we had lots of fun and would go back.

AmyG

We went to the hotel two weeks after you. All I can suggest is that maybe they had sorted out a lot of their problems by then. I don't know what it was like when you were there, but my comments were based on my own experiences. We had a fantastic time.

regencysecurity

with-out being rude...is your name stevie wonder???

how could you fail to see all the dangers there? i won't go into detail but read not only my comments and the reviews other sites! you couldn't even go into the sea cause the builders dumped all the rubbish in there. ie glass, metal rods etc the list is endless, all i can say is watch tv, soon you'll see a report on the hotel.

AmyG

Sorry - but I am not a rep and we had a fantastic holiday. I have to say, though, that we were not promised any of the multiple restaurants, complimentary bars and free swimming lessons that you say you were offered. We expected one restaurant, four pools and a playground, and that is what we got. And the food was excellent.

We Are A Family Of Four (kids 12,8) We Booked This

We are a family of four (kids 12,8) we booked this hotel at very short notice and to be honest without really looking into it. After making the booking we had 2 days of panic as we found lots of discussion about the hotel on holidaytruths. Lots of people who had booked through First Choice had holidays cancelled as the hotel was not ready. In the end I managed to get hold of a phone number of the hotel and spoke to the manager 3 days before we left. They reassured us that the hotel was fully functional and had no building work still in progress. This put our minds at rest to a certain extent but we were still very nervous when we travelled.

We arrived in the middle of the night and had to get a taxi to the hotel which took about 20 mins and wasn't really a problem, had a pleasant greating from the reception staff and were shown straight to our room. Our room actually turned out to be an apartment which was clearly brand new and much better than we expected.

On waking in the morning the kids went running off to have a look around and came back very excited, there are loads of different pools and waterslides, etc.

The long and the short of it is we ended up having a fantastic week at a great price, even the food was good and I'm usually a bit disappointed with all inclusive food.

I would also recommend a day trip to Turkey which we did by ferry from Kos Town, we had a really great day shoping and haggling for clothes, etc. The kids had had enough by the end of the day though so I wouldn't recommend it with younger children.

All in all a great holiday in kos and we will definitely be going back to the Kos Aqua Club
