Best Sim Ever. Just Try It. Very Real. Tried
Best Sim ever. Just try it. Very real.
Tried a lot of rally sims but there is nothing like this one. Some people don't like it because it's hard. If you think as just another car game where you can have 300cv at full throttle... just forget it!
Well recommend Richard Burns Rally for the PC.

This Is Not A Arcade Sim Rally Game Like Sega Rall
This is not a Arcade Sim Rally game like Sega Rally was, Nor is it a Direct Copy of Colin McRae series although it is very close to Colin McRae 5.
I have Played them and I know the difference to this game.
This is Fresh Air to people who like a good Driving game which is realistic.
Loads of Cars, Corses, Settings, Weather to play with and master.
You can't hold the throttle down all the way round this game, in fact you won't make the first corner nor the long straight .... LOL ...
Power sliding, Balanced Braking and Tequnique are all required as the car's will not forgive a Joyride mentality.
This is a Driver Skill game, You got it or you Aint. SIMPLE
Beat your mates over the head with this in Multiplayer and you will soon be 'Billy No Mates', Multiplayer is Turn based which can drag a Little. but the best car in the stage is represented as a ghost car, so it's still fun to watch.
Sound is Fantastic 5.1 EAX Recomended (if your computer is a bit slow the use basic Stereo it will help the game play smother)
Graphics Very good, need a Good DirectX 9.b Compliant card (your Graphical quality will depend entierly on the computer you have and settings you use ie a Nvidia FX5200/Radeon 9000 is going to strugle with frame rate AND Quality, compared to a Radeon 9700/9800)
Do Update your Drivers and optimise your settings to get the best from the card you have, you don't need 100fps so balance out the settings to gain some nice quality as well.
CPU Athlon XP2000+ or better is fine
minimum memory 512MB or you will get stutters in the frame rate.
I prefer to play my Racing games on the Xbox (only because of the controller) but this is so good on the PC, wish I hadn't given away the Sidewiner Wheel .....
The more I play this the more I learn it's that simple, lots of other games have come close but this is the new standard.
To sum up this game give you a Feel for Rallying, Balance of Power, grip, braking and nerve.
If You don't get to grips with this game, Get Collin McRae 5 as it will be nearly the same but the Cars are a bit more forgiving to drive.

Richard Burns Rally Is Simply The Rally Simulation
Richard Burns Rally is simply THE rally simulation for the PC at this moment. All other rally 'sims' are just arcade racers. At last, a game in which the car really has mass and inertia. The grip on different surfaces is very well modelled, separately for each wheel. Force feedback on a steering wheel is excellent.
If you're a racing sim fan, this game is mandatory. Buy a steering wheel though, because keyboard, joystick or anything else doesn't do the sim justice.

Richard Burns Rally - I Expected A Really True Ral
Richard Burns Rally - I expected a REALLY true rally simulator, but I've been given an ungovernable half-arcade rally game (just like the former game of the Warthog named Rally Championship Xtreme), with fair but pure graphics. Where is that "photorealistic gfx" guys? :) Physics of the cars are really NOT life-like, I guesstimate they weigh ca. 200 kilos max., they fly like model cars, tyres skiding on the asphalt as on the ice, do you need more?
