The Saab 9-5 Vector as a buy is excellent. I managed to pick up a 57 registered 9-5 Aero Hot (260 bhp) for £19,000 with 24 miles on the clock. It is an absolute monster in the 40 to 70 speed and it will carry anything that you want it to carry. Excellent car and very fast!

No idea how and why but they are willing to pay for 70% of cost parts and labour.
This is not acceptable and insisting on the full cost.
NOT a car to be owned without a warranty, and will never ever recommend to my enemy.

On the market for long distance travel. If you want a sporty estate (even in a 2.0 light pressure turbo the Saab 9-5 2.0 lpt Vector can really leave the competition behind) whilst fitting in as much flat pack as you can possible buy at Ikea THIS is the car for you. Once you have owned a Saab then it is really difficult to be happy with anything else despite the drawbacks listed above. We have compared it to the best that BMW, Merc, and Jeep have to offer and still regret every car we buy that is not saab. It works out more expensive changing a car you do not like more often, than running up the miles happily in a Saab.

I totally agree with you.
I am having the same problem with my Saab 9-5, initially problem with the brakes, about 4 recalls, problem with the auto gearbox in with the first few month and now the same problem just after the warranty expired. Saab said there is water in the gearbox and also low pressure in the gearbox. No idea how and why but they are willing to pay for 70% of cost parts and labour.
This is not acceptable and insisting on the full cost.

UPDATE: we still own this car now at 60k +. The car went in to a different main dealer for the listed faults and wow what a difference! Returned within a week all issues sorted first time FOC. Turned out suspension issue was actually not as bad as feared. We have since had trouble free motoring, car still drives "as new" and is now serviced at an independent dealer (the mechanic owns a Saab themselves) costing about £150 so would recommend non-dealer servicing the car is perfectly happy without.
