Why Didn't I Read Reviews On This First?! St

Why didn't I read reviews on this first?!

Still haven't got out of the house wearing this. Really hard to adjust, pulled my back trying to just adjust the straps as material gets caught up. Lumber support sits half way up back (I'm only 5'6 and a size 10 so no giant!) but as shoulder straps aren't adjustable it just won't fit my husband at all! Bizarrely waist straps would adjust (if you could pull them!) to fit someone with a 60" waist...

S lock is really tricky - even without baby in!

Tempted to just bin and buy alternative.

We Decided To "upgrade" From An Original Baby Bjor

We decided to "upgrade" from an original Baby Bjorn to the Tomy for our second child for two reasons, the lumbar support and the click & go "S" system, as my wife has a weak back and found the old one a bit difficult to get the baby in.

Unfortunately neither of these systems are very good, the lumbar support shifts away from your lumbar region as soon as you put any weight in the front, eg a baby! The S locking system is a great idea, unless the carrier lifts up in the lumbar region (see above) meaning you need one hand to hold the lock on the strap section, one hand to negotiate the lock on the carrier section and two hands to support a new born baby. But freak of nature I only have two hands so you need someone to assist!

Other than this I found the adjustment belts quite poor, tending to ruck up in the pulleys and clips, and to get any semblence of a good fit you need two of you, every time you change user. It also has so many clips and adjustments that if you are using it to soothe a crying baby (as I have with both of mine) then by the time it is fitted the baby is well in to complete paddy stage!

Finally small babys (although ours was 9lb2 at birth) sit so low in it they seen uncomfortable. They suggest setting it so you can kiss babys head, but with half an hour of adjustments never managed to get closer than about 4 inches!

Off to ebay with it and back to a nice basic Baby Bjorn!

I Feel This Is Handy If You're Just Popping To The

I feel this is handy if you're just popping to the shop but not for going any distance. I have seen this on the internet for between £40 - £60 which unless you have money to waste is definitely not worth it in my opinion. Luckily I got mine in Asda on promotion for £18 and still do not think that it is worth that! I have two children under the age of two and have only used this about 5 times in total. Its far too uncomfortable on my neck (even when my baby was newborn) and doesn't look very comfortable for the baby either!

Our New Tomy Click And Go Baby Carrier Arrived In

Our new Tomy Click and Go baby carrier arrived in the post last week, and I have to say I'm not impressed. It was very expensive to buy, and Mothercare had it priced at a whopping £60, but after shopping around I managed to get it from Amazon for £45, which to me is still expensive. Yes, it's the easiest baby carrier to get your baby in and out of, but after 10 minutes of using it my neck was killing me (our baby is only 7 weeks old). Anyway, it seemed OK when our baby was awake, but she soon fell asleep and seemed to be slumped face first in my chest, which just did not look comfortable for the baby or my nerves!!! It meant I could not relax and ended up constantly checking her every 10 - 15 seconds. So the only difference to this and one of the cheaper ones (yes I also have a cheaper one) is the fact that you don't have the wrestling match trying to get your child in! Is that worth £45 - £60? You decide.
