I have had this 3 years now. Have had one failure. but that was my wifes fault she dropped it. Hard drive gave up. Apart from that i have not had one problem with it. So i would say it has been a good investment. i liked it so much i bought the newer version whilst other one was being prepaired. Big mistake. have had that less than a year and already had new battery and 2 new mother boards.

“Keypad wears off, scroll on mouse failed to work after...”

Keypad wears off, scroll on mouse failed to work after a year and battery power quickly declined even though everything was done to prevent this happening.
Good laptop for general use but if used all day every day the silver covering wears off and battery power runs down to nothing. Therefore I do not recommend Philips Freevents x52 laptop.
