Hotel Cheyenne Does Give You The Feel Of A Western

Hotel Cheyenne does give you the feel of a western and check in was simple and easy. We got our room at 12:30 despite being told in the literature it would not be ready until after 3pm. The buses to and from the resort took 5 mins and were frequent. For the money paid I thought it was fine - remember the tips you find elsewhere - take some pastries at breakfast for mid morning snacks in the park and refill your bottled water each morning for the same reasons. Expect to pay at least 30 euros for lunch for 4 - so budget. We stayed for 3 nights/4 days and on half board and spent another £300 on food and general bits and bobs. Worth every penny but just be prepared to spend more than you would expect to back in the uk. Get over that hurdle in your 'head' and you will be fine - Enjoy!!

My Partner And I Took Our 3 Year Old Daughter T

My partner and I took our 3 year old daughter to Disneyland Paris and decided to book into the Hotel Cheyenne as it seemed to offer good value for money on the internet.

When we arrived at the hotel, we had to queue for check-in for about 15 minutes. Once I reached the desk we were asked what time we wanted breakfast for the duration of our stay. Who knows what time you want to wake up 3 days down the line??? Anyway, we were given vouchers for breakfast in the park for the Sunday, which was really great.

Because we were early, our luggage went into storage until we could get into the room. Rooms are only available from 3pm. However, when we were leaving, there were people checking into the room opposite us and that was before 12!

The hotel runs a Wild West Theme and we were in the Annie Oakley 'Guest House'. You can almost imagine tumbleweed blowing down the street. The bedroom is basic. There is a double bed (which is not comfortable) and bunk beds. The hotel asks that no children under 4 sleep on the top bunk, so I am not sure how a family would cope if they had two children under 4.

We asked for extra pillows which they were happy to give. There is no coffee/tea making facilities in the room, but for a deposit of €25 you can hire a kettle, and for €4.50 you can get a box with 4 servings of tea and coffee. I would suggest buying milk from the restaurant.

Bathrooms are basic. They advertise that you get toiletries, but you only get 2 small cakes of soap. There is a shower over the bath with one of those dreaded shower curtains that sticks to your skin.

TV - there are loads of channels available. However, most are in French, Dutch or German. They do have BBC news and also Eurosport. My partner summed it up - the rooms are basic, and fortunately you don't speed a lot of time in the rooms when you are there.

Food - well, I have to admit that I was disappointed. When we arrived we were really hungry, so we went to their restaurant (they only have one). Smoked Ribs and Chicken were on the menu with one or two other things (can't remember)! They had mickey mouse pizzas and chicken strips available for children. The smoked ribs had obviously been boiled until they were barely ribs anymore, and then a BBQ sauce was thrown over them. My daughters Pizza was barely cooked with the cheese still clearly unmelted.

For pudding you can have donuts or Nestle chocolate mousse. Dinner that night was exactly the same. The menu did not change. Smoked Ribs and Chicken, plus fish and pasta.

Breakfast is a 'Continental' affair, with the option of having a hot breakfast at an extra cost. Breakfast is limited to two choices of cold meat, and two choices of cheese. There is cereal, but if you don't like cornflakes and coco pops you are pretty stuffed. Yoghurt is literally thrown into an ice tray. Pastries are limited to croissants and pan au chocolates. The first day we had breakfast they had cold waffles available. There was none the third day.

Eating in the park is a costly affair, but if you are looking for something a little different, I would suggest Cafe Mickey. The Disney Characters walk around nearly all day, and at least it is an enjoyable meal. Annettes Diner make brilliant milkshakes, including Peanut Butter flavour. Good burgers too.

There is a small shop at the hotel which sells pretty much everything. The prices and products are pretty much the same as in the park, so we bought all our gifts the day we left so that we did not have to lug them back to the hotel.

There are pony rides for children, but they only run from 9am to 12 noon, which is pretty silly, as most people are out of the hotel at that time. Theere is a small play area in the main hotel lobby, but nothing to get excited about.

Shuttles to the park are every 12 minutes and run like clockwork. The bus stops outside the train station, so when you are heading home it is convenient too.

One thing I would suggest to anyone travelling with children - you can hire prams at the park for €6.50 per day. Worth every cent!!!

If we went back there, we would probably pay the extra and get a hotel closer to the park, with a few more facilities. However, for what we needed the room for, it did well.

Fair comment. You defend your corner well!

Someone once said - Life is like a box of chocolates .......!

The hotel wasn't perfect, but the company I was with was. That far outweighed any negatives.

I would recommend it because of cost. Afterall, the park was the main attraction and for all intents and purposes, the hotel did it's job!

MissBehaving - you recommend a hotel with "drab bedrooms" and "poor food." You either have a great sense of humour or are into punishment. Anyway, interesting review.
