Very Irritating
They claim :
"Cheap international calls from your landline"
"Extremely competitive rates"
They use this access no.
- don't know - only service provider.
which pretends to be a Local rate call which is often free with BT
I called Crazy Tel to check how much it was to call the access number but they had no idea how much the access call cost (!)
I spoke to Brian at BT call centre on
I asked "How much is a call to an 0843 number"
He said it was :-
15p to set it up plus
5p per minute
This makes Crazy Tel a complete xcon and even more expensive than using BT - They are Liars and xcon merchants.
They should put the cost of the access call or they cannot possibly claim to be cheap, They are duping and misleading me and many others by pretending that people only pay 0.5p .
Crazytel inform customers of the following on our website:
• Ask the bill payer's permission before using the service.
• Calls are charged per minute & include VAT. Charges apply from the moment of connection. The charge is incurred even if the destination number is engaged or the call is not answered.
• Please replace the handset after a short period if the calls are engaged or unanswered.
• BT call setup fee applies. Cost of calls from non BT operators & mobiles may vary, please check with your operator.
• Rates and the availability of certain destinations are subject to change without prior notice.
Crazytel’s so-called
"Cheap international calls ... / Extremely competitive rates" are actually much more expensive than BT!
They use 0844 and 0843 access nos. (which mimics a Local rate call which is often free with BT) . However BT charge 20p per 1st minute.
So Crazy Tel is a complete xcon and even more expensive than using BT !
They don't know the cost of the access call so cannot claim to be cheap, They are duping and misleading people, pretending that you only pay 0.5p .
It is a fake and worse than BT.
Crazytel offers cheap international calls from landlines and mobile phones, each with their own advantages tailored to mobiles or landlines, depending on the user. When using either service, you would call an access number to be connected. When using your landline number, you would get connected by dialling the access number without the hassle of buying a phone card, entering the PIN number, etc., etc. Billing is done by your Service Provider and included in your monthly bill.
When using the mobile service, you would need to send a text to be topped up and the amount required would depend on every individual customer. Your bill provider’s charges will appear on your monthly statement. To get connected, an access number is dialled in the same way as using the landline service.
Crazytel’s charges for using the service are charged according to the rates displayed on our website, depending on which access number is dialled to get connected and which country you wish to call. Charges may be incurred by your Service Provider for dialling our access number. However, depending on your price plan and package with your Provider, many of our numbers are normally included in FREE minutes’ allowance. This is an issue that you have to take up with your Provider, as different Providers, naturally, charge different rates and offer different packages and price plans. Therefore, your Service Provider may or may not charge you for dialling our access number, depending on your contract with them. Please read our Terms and Conditions before using the service.

Please be aware that our T&C’s are clearly explained on our website and this includes the 90 day time period within which you need to use your credit. Please note that we call our users to remind them to use their credit and that we also send them a text message reminder.

Avoid Them
Cheap calls but you need to use a credit within 3 months. Didn't know that when was topping up. There's no terms and conditions on their website. Very Disappointed. Lost money.

Liars!!!
They charge you every time with a wrong amount,always with advantage for them.When you call customer service team they lost and never know how to explain situation.They are unprofesional ,unpolite and terrible.A girl said "it is not a bank" when I asked about my missing credit she answer back and said that I am rediculous, and then she hung up.
Awoid this service and your stres.It is waste of money and time!!!

I Think People Should Know That The Crazytel Servi
I think people should know that the Crazytel service exists. The lines are clear all the time, and certain destinations like Canada or China can be less then or equal to 0.5 pence per minute. I honestly don't believe you can get this price for this quality of line with anyone else. Judge for yourselves.
Visit their website. At least you'll be making an informed decision.
