“Monstrous moben manipulators ”

Due to a lack of skill instead unskilled installers ruined what was meant to help lift what had been a traumatic unsettled 3 years prior instead made situation a lot worse which led to divorce later after which a near fatal accident occurred proved another failure refused to do resulting in having to pay to hav built in oven removed then re installed due to what was an horrendous accident

“Very poor quality”

We had a moben kitchen fitted just before they went bump ( for the second time I believe) the skins came away from the cupboards and because they were taken over by another company but still trading as moben we had to pay again for new doors and their appliances couldn't be repaired when they broke either !!!

“Amateur company now disappeared off the face of the planet”

I used these guys in my old house and they were awful. There were a number of things wrong with the fitting of the kitchen that were dealt with in the most cak-handed way. It took 3 months to finally finish everything after they promised it would be done in 5 days! The customer service was poor and there seemed to be no communication between their departments. One of the worst companies I've ever dealt with.

“Thanks for nothing!”

One year of saving for my new kitchen lost in a moment. Thanks for nothing including the representative who made me pay by cheque.I lost £3000.00 and have no or little chance to get any of it back except from the generosity and charity of others.

After the shock of Moben going under I could kick myself for paying the deposit by cheque. I have been told that there is little or no chance of any recompense or refund. My luck came good when my friend told me about other companies that were trying to help Moben clients in my position. I went with a very good company that guarantees deposits and standards through there Trustmark membership and reputation. This has made us feel a whole lot better. Anyone in my position should use a Trustmark company to guarantee there peace of mind. The companies that are helping are. Wren Kitchens Magnet Kitchens KBBC Kitchens You can visit there websites and make your choice depending on your preference and budget. Good Luck Karen

“AWFUL”

The salesperson that came to my house to quote for a new kitchen made the assumption that I was some stupid housewife. He was patronising and 'acted' his way through a ridiculous sales patter. He was in my house for almost 2 hrs when he announced he was going outside for a 'break'. I explained that I needed to pick up my daughter from nursery and he told me not to worry, he'd make the break a quick one. When he was done he went to the bathroom and came out with his flies undone. He then quoted me 19500 for a factory painted MDF kitchen (which I know I can get hand painted solid oak for the same) and then proceeded to tell me it was my lucky day and I could get 25% off bringing the cost to 14500 (still extortionate). I said no and he went through this idiotic charade of pretending that his bosses would be angry with him but he could knock off another 1000 (still extortionate). I said I would let him know. I finally got rid of him after 2.5hrs. I later sent him an email rejecting the quote and he came back offering 11500. My kitchen is tiny and this cost did not include any appliances/tiling/flooring etc, just units. My personal opinion is that the sales patter of this company is very out-dated and condescending and the kitchens heavily over priced. I have now had a quote for beautiful timber hand-painted kitchen including appliances, re-flooring and tiling for 8500 from another company who I am thrilled with. I would never choose to use Moben again.

The 50% off is a gimick. The price that you get from the designer still has 20% to bargain with. Choose a Kitchen with Moben, you will get the same one from Kitchens Direct for less money...they are the same company, just operate differntly.

Currently having £12k kitchen fitted by Moben ( supposedly half price)-( cooker and fridge freezer not included in offer) - noticed that the finished plans for my kitchen drawn up and printed out on paper have not live up to my expectations during installation. I have found that my design has faults in it whereby my corner units are hidden in places by my domestic appliances which has ended up allowing me poor access to them wasting so much valuable needed space. i have so put my full trust in their personal designer but have been left with a poorly designed areas which i hate and cannot bare. I wish a 3D physical model could have been made available/on offer to me of the finished kitchen itself before i went ahead with the final fitting as i would have understood the design in more depth. I feel so upset and let down by the designer and their false conned ideas- i cannot stop crying.This was supposed to be my dream kitchen but all it has given me is headaches and nightmares. MOBEN NEVER AGAIN-

If there was a choice "-5 stars" would be a right description for their service, which is not existent. Please, stay away from Moben if you respect your time and your hard earned money, as once you sign up there is no much you can do. Our fitting date was 15 Nov 2010, 6 April 2011 our kitchen is not complete. Unhelpful, unfriendly and useless customer service and coordinator. very frustrating and upsetting!!!! STAY AWAY!!!

So disappointed. Went for a recognised brand who could deliver the whole product. Very efficient with the sales and surveyor and the delivery (one piece missing but arrived promptly). Fitters worked well but from the start clear the details of the products had been omittted. Coordinator never returned calls. Found out on the Friday that pieces missing from order (supposedly fitter knew on monday) and that fitter going on holiday for a week. No one available to tell us why we weren't offered alternative date so job could be finished. various faults they are not interested in fixing. No response to emails to customer services or senior management. icing on the cake is call asking me (addressing me by wrong name) if my shower had been delivered - not that useful in a kitchen! Avoid like the plague - they take your money, promise quality and then don't care less.

Dont know how they are still in buisness. They take your money then they dont want to know. All my kitchen didnt arrive, and when you finaly get through to somone on the phone they couldnt careless. Dont even consider them.

paid 9,ooo for kichen ....had to get my own tiles and tiler,, small kitchen.. when fitter left he had dented my new ceiling with hammer never let on about that,, then i discovered 12FAULTS!!!6 phone calls to company,, including the cordinator,,told me to phone the fitter myself cant get him either,not impressed at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am presently looking into the choices of kitchens available. My original inclination was for Moben having visited their impressive showroom in Cardiff. However the consistent records of detrimental comments I have discovered this afternoon on several wrbsites have forced me to change my decision about Moben. The overall grade of their workmanship sounds frightening. I would like to thank the many reviewers who have guided me away from this firm.

Don't even consider them. You have no idea how long it may take and they have your money. Apparently the compensation is £35 per month they are late in delivering so they have no incentive at all. There is no way to complain except in writing which is ignored. There's no way of speaking to your co-ordinator because they just don't call back. Manager/supervisor calls have to be requested and then they don't call either. Staff are so frequently going through this that they just don't care any more (my opinion).

i bought a moben kitchen for a small flat in london. basically 5 base units and 3 wall units and all new appliances in same place as original kitchen. designer and surveyor were both very helpful.

it was initially ok - items were delivered on time and then fitter began on time. he did 2 days work then disappeared with my keys. no-one was able to track him down incl moben. i have still to pay for new security keys for the whole apartment block.

after a couple of months of weekly calls i was able to arrange for another fitter to come and see what was outstanding. the kitchen and living room which was full of packaging were unusable the entire time which included christmas and new year.

more parts were ordered but were incorrect - and new fitters had to be found. this all involves visits to london to wait for deliveries and to let people in - with no indication when they will arrive.

now after 5 months the kitchen is largely complete except some doors are the wrong colour and upstands apparently require a different kind of fitter. I am told its 2 months to get stock of doors - although that was going to be confirmed today (no one called).

I have rarely managed to speak to the person controlling the job and despite 10+ requests no manager has ever called me. the helpful surveyor/designer have disappeared. one charming individual informed me that compensation was tried and tested and i was entitled to £400 per annum for any delay over 6 weeks - and so how would i like my £35 per month (ha ha).

dreadful company - the worst experience i've ever had. hand over your money and hope for the best. i have no idea how they stay in business.

Happy with the design we signed up and paid over£1600 deposit on an £11,000 kitchen as it was reduced from £38,000!!!!! What a steal..... Signed up to pay on finance agreement over 6 months interest free. The surveyor then came and left a fitted kitchen contract which told me to arrange with electricity board to get new mains isolator fitted which I did at a cost of £152, had a call couple of weeks after saying they now wanted another £3500 to go ahead, when queried the guy didn't have a clue, he said he would get in touch with head office and get back to me... Did he hell....have I had anything in writing from either moben or the finance company... Have I hell....useless pillock phoned again Saturday saying they will return my deposit. Should I thank them for that... Don't think so as they've had my money for 7 weeks now probably with no intention of doing my kitchen....best thing for this company would be to go t..ts up( after I get my money back) £11,000 obviously wasn't enough for them even though it was meant to be half price (" sale finishes in January" no it doesn't it's still on now you tube) vat free and £1500 worth of appliances

Moben Kitchen Design - Don't do it.

I have tried to cut this short but our issues deserve a proper airing .

We were promised that our kitchen would be completed in 5 days plus another 2 for tiling. It took 17 weeks !!

The so called designer (or should this be salesman?) ignored our requirements and designed what he wanted. We needed a 900mm wide breakfast bar to accommodate 4 people. He left us with a 620mm top that was a tight squeeze for two!! We complained but Moben didn't want to know.
I eventually managed to buy a 900mm bar from Moben at a cost of £348 which I was told included fitting but was later forced to pay a further £150 for fitting.

One of the cabinet runs was so long that it left only a 570mm gap to access the back door. Called Moben and got a technical manager round who agreed to change the run of cabinets. The run was shortened by removing 800mm base and wall units and replacing them 600mm units with a loss of storage that we had paid for. We complained but Moben didn't want to know.

We ordered a display cabinet which was provided with solid doors !! It was 6 weeks before we received the glass doors and another 11 weeks before they were fitted.

We ordered stone wall tiles and had Moben fit them. On completion we discovered that we had been supplied, and paid for, 50% more tiles than required. We complained and guess what? They didn't want to know.

We were persuaded to have gloss finish worktops. Big mistake. They are very easily scratched despite Moben's assurance that they are hard wearing and scratch resistant. They also show every finger mark. Go for matt finish for two reasons. Marks will not show as much and they are readily available from any kitchen showroom. The gloss finish we chose is exclusive to Moben which means they can charge what they want.

Do not believe a word about the so called dedicated project manager. They are nothing more than call centre reps and are almost impossible to pin down. I often had to wait 3 days before I received any response to a query and in one instance waited 3 weeks.

We threatened court proceedings and guess what? Moben didn't want to know - at first. After many letters we were offered a more realistic settlement but Moben tried to include a gagging order. Guess what? This time we didn't want to know. We eventually settled out of court with the gagging order removed. We got back all our additional costs plus an acceptable amount as compensation for the delays and loss of space etc.

The only good thing we can say is that the fitters, plasterer and tiler all did a really good job, and guess what? None of them are Moben employees. They are all contractors.

Are they liars or do they just not care? I'll leave others to decide but do yourself a favour. Go somewhere else for your kitchen and save both money and your sanity. We were taken in by what we saw at the showroom and didn't do any research. Don't make the same mistake.

“Where do I start?! ”

Where do I start?!

The 'designer' visited our home, measured up not really interested in what was wanted.

Left, no reply for 2 weeks. Had to call head office for quote, quote was for wrong style.

Week later received correct quote with an absolute joke of a drawing and of wrong layout,

Cost for an average size kitchen....... 24,000!!
Avoid these jokers, they have also been on BBC watchdog.

Just had a quote from Moben - £11,700 for what is quite a small kitchen - maybe 4 base units and 4 wall units! One appliance and we get to do our own tiling ! Huh ? I have already bought the range cooker, extractor and will be buying the sink, tiles and handles.What do they think I am paying for ? 2 days assembling some average quality units ?

They are lucky to get one star and I have only given is as they actually did appear to measure up and give me a verbal quote. That is the only positive thing I have to say about them.

I made an appointment - they didn't show up. I phoned to complain and they re-scheduled only for the rep to ring me 3 hours before to say a rep wasn't in the area so couldn't come. When I rang to complain they said an area manager would come down to see me so we made another appointment.

The "area manager" and I say this loosely, came and measured up and did all the talk but was very condecending. He kept on saying "so you JUST want this" or "you JUST want that". I am planning on spending a lot of money and don't expect to feel that it isn't enough which is exactly the way he made me feel. Even my husband who took over from me because he was so annoying felt the same way.

At the end of the 1 hour meeting - he gave me a price and promised to send fuller detailed pictures to me a.s.a.p. it is now 3 weeks on and I have not heard anything from them.

If I were you - I wouldn't waste the money on a phone call or the electric turning on your computer to register and interest online. They are useless.

I ordered two kitchen in October 2010 and paid a deposit of £8,400 after having the planner with me for 6 hours. Next came the surveyor who then spent 4 hours with me promising that both kitchens would be fitted before Christmas. Both kitchens are at the same address
The fitter arrived on his own three weeks before Christmas, he was supposed to be able to lift 4 metre lengths of 900 work tops on his own. There were boxes everywhere. We were left with no cooking or washing facilities for two weeks (this was four adults and two children aged 7 and 3) Within the first week I was constantly on the telephone to Moben who were very unhelpful. After the first week enough was enough I told the fitter to leave as he was unwell from day one and was constantly on the telephone and kept informing us that his brother was going to help him, this never happened. My next course of action was to telephone my local newspaper who contacted Moben- all systems go, my daughters kitchen was usable for Christmas but not completed.
Today is 02.02.2011, my kitchen is still not completed. This company has taken £24,000 from me and not delivered the service I have paid for.
I suggest you totally ignore the advert on the television, the units are not specially made they are bog standard carcasses which you could buy from any local DIY centre.
Would I recommend this company, I think not. Is my kitchen ever going to be completed, I have now answer all I know is that they will not remove the kitchen and give me my money back

Well ,I have to write off Moben even before they have approached me. I requested for the designer visit. Whoever it was refused to turn up . Then the visit was rearranged . This time the so called consultant developed flu . So I rang them up as they had left a message on my phone. The visit was rearranged but the consultant failed to turn up again....So I have decided not to call them again. I would give them 0/5 even before it has started!
