We Enjoyed Golf, Food And Company, But Were Extrem
We enjoyed golf, food and company, but were extremely disappointed with hotel. Our shower didn't work properly, very noisy in rooms, no lift. Bar closed too early for residents, we weren't allowed to play cards, nothing hence to do late at night. Ran out of most red wines only two most expensive left, ran out of lager on one day. Pretty good food though and excellent staff.

Played St Mellion course 20th May 2006. You can see why it has held so many championships in the past but not too many at present. The course is absolutely fabulous and could cater for any championship, but the clubhouse etc is slightly tired. There is a new leisure centre but the hotel side is a bit aged. Don't let this put you off, it's well worth it for the golf. There are two courses, the Nicklaus and the Old course which are NOT seperate, they are interconnected. This works well until you have quite a walk from the 9th to the 10th and teeing off you cross the 10th of the Old course. A lot of care has to be taken when driving off, then the walk across the fairway of the Old course.
Rooms are VERY warm and clean but as I said tired. The Bar is good and the prices are not too bad. £2.70 for a pint of lager. The evening meals are very good as is the breakfast. All in all for the £113.00 it cost me for the round plus room, 3 course meal and full English breakfast it was well worth it.
