Whitby, Hillcrest Guest House

I haven't really stayed in many guesthouses and have tended to go for larger hotels due to thoughts of Fawlty Towers type properties with dodgy carpets and curtains! Hillcrest Guesthouse in Whitby definitely shattered that perception. The property is 5 - 10 minutes walk from the centre of Whitby, and it was very tastefully decorated - better than my home! Big rooms, high ceilings, modern furnishings, wooden floorboards, modern en suite bathroom. Friendly hosts giving a good, full English breakfast means that I would definitely go back.
