The Low Wood in Windermere is a great venue, with great views. Modern, elegant, great staff. There are no bad points. I would recommend. Food, location and customer service.

Stay Away Is The Best Advice I Can Give You If You

STAY AWAY is the best advice I can give you if you are thinking of going to Low Wood. Below are brief excerpts of our stay which was very expensive at £220 per night (dinner B&B).

The room was small, bathroom grotty (and we had upgraded to the Lake view Deluxe Room). What they failed to tell me was that the busiest road in Windermere runs past the window. It was horrendous! Also our 'double room' was two twin beds pushed together - the perfect environment to celebrate your anniversary!

The bar is just a poor little room - the lounge is reminiscent of a Blackpool B&B and in places the carpets were threadbare!

The leisure club is just as bad. My girlfriend wanted a facial - but the only woman who did them was on holiday (on Easter weekend!!!!!!!). She then wanted a seaweed wrap - but they had run out of seaweed!

Upon complaining the duty manager disappointed - and then having promised to adjust the bill didn't do it - leaving me to complain again the next day!

I am not one to gripe - just don't go here. The manager did helpfully suggest that the "sister hotels are far better" - which was nice.

On a positive note, the restaurant and its staff were excellent - so save yourself £220 per night - book elsewhere, but do consider popping in for food!
