Had van when it was 2yrs old. Has been a very reliable works van, with comfort, speed & economical on fuel. Only today had a major problem only had 1st gear and gear stick was floppy could not select other gear or put it in neutral. Vauxhall quoted £220 new gear selector cables plus fitting. Went on utube common fault, open bonnet and on the right side of engine the gearbox housing is attached on top of the housing looking down on it is a lever with a mushroom lug where the gear selector nylon cable end connects onto, This wears and pops off COMMON FAULT they all say new cables. THERE IS A REPAIR CLIP FOR THIS FAULT only £7.00 on EBay. Saved me hundreds hope this helps if you come across this problem.

HAD MINE 3 YEARS, COST NO MORE TO RUN AND SERVICE THAN ANY OTHER BRAND IVE HAD OVER THE LAST 20 YEARS IE NISSAN, FORD, VAUXHALL, VW. EX FLEET HIRE ARE JUNK AND REVIEWS FROM TIGHT ARSES WHO BUY ONE CHEAP AND THEN SLATE THEM HERE ALONG WITH TRANNY OWNERS IS UNFAIR TO THE RELIABILITY, STYLE AND FANTASICNESS OF THESE GREAT AND VERY POPULAR VANS. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF BULLSHIT...DONT BUY ONE ITS YOUR LOSS.

I hear so many bad thing about this van yet iv had a good few since they were launched. And never had any trouble I do believe this is because I buy from new and look after them I do 1400 miles a week in this van and can't fault it they are so comfy and quiet. . Most of these vans when bought second hand have been put though the paces as the main percentage of these are hire van with a lot of major company's using them and so on they have got the market so they can't be that bad can they ! However I no there not as reliable as the Volkswagen. And other german makes over the year but they are also a dam site cheaper than those vans . In. 2007 I bought a new transit. And it broke my heart for 3 long long years never again and they are a lot worse on go go juice. Just the differance in fuel over 3 years doing my mileage save me 10500 pounds that is nearly enough to get a new vivaro sport. That cost me 15000. Plus. The hated vat And that money get u the top spec one with cruise sat nav park sensors Arm rest auto lights wipers. Roof rack try and price up any other van with that spec and u would. .... Urself and run they really are a good van if u look after them hope this helps u people out there don't listen to the missable ones that. Brought old rubbish cause they did nt want to spend a few pound more. :)

PROBLEM WITH THE INTERNET IS YOU DON'T KNOW IF THE REVIEW IS LEFT BY A NON OWNER OR A RIVAL BRAND?
IVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH ANY OF MY VANS INCLUDING MY VIVARO OR MY ALFA ROMEO'S.
BOTH ON THE NET ARE SLATED AS BEING UNRELIABLE ETC.
WELL HAD VAN 3 YEARS AND ALFA 8 YEARS AND STILL LOVE BOTH.
I USE THE INTERNET WITH CAUTION AND IGNORE THE OTT NEGATIVE REVIEWS FROM THE UNEDUCATED SCAREMONGERS, BUT TAKE AN OVERALL VIEW AND THIS WAY I GET THE INFO I NEED BUT DONT MISS OUT ON OWNING VEHICLES THAT I ACTUALLY CANT WAIT TO GET IN AND DRIVE...THATS THE VIVARO......FANTASTIC

ENJOY YOUR TOYOTA, IF YOU BOUGHT AN EX FLEET THRASHED LEMON THEN TOUGH.
BUY A GOOD SERVICED CARED FOR VAN AND YOUD BE LEAVING A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT REVIEW.
THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF VIVAROS ON THE ROAD DAILY, IF THEY WERE AS BAD AS YOURS (if you really had one?) THEN THEY WOULDNT HAVE LASTED AS THE TOP SELLING VAN FOR THE PAST 10 YEARS.........THEY ARE POPULAR BECAUSE THEY ARE GOOD

CHECK THE SCUTTLE, IF ITS WET UNDERNEATH ON THE JOIN THEN IT NEEDS REMOVING AND SEALING WITH A GOOD BRANDED SILICONE.
EASY JOB

How can you rate a Vivaro Van as 100% when you have not even bought it,have you read other reviews,I don't belive you for real, you must be Vauxhall and you don't fool me,your cuswtomer care isn't efficient and service parts availability sucks,i've been waiting 15 working days and still not got the part my Vivaro needs, dont buy Vauxhall they're a ripp off, they only sell and dont care to help you afterwards with parts and i'm not talking about wheels no,a leak off pipe plastic connector for my 2008 CDTI 2.0. My garage friend just sold a 2007 CDTI astra fro scrap, couldn't get turbo, now do you get my drift!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have just had 1 injector removed ?? this ended up with all of them being removed, this was done by welding nuts 2 the top of the injectors & ripping them out, this inturn left the bottom section of the injector still in place, but by removing the top part this enables you 2 remove the rocker cover letting you have access 2 the head bolts for removal, so that you can get the remainder of the injectors drilled out.
put blue tac over the injector holes underside of head then pour a weak acid solution into the injector housing,(vinigar leve for 30 mis then agitate with a stiff wheele brush this removes all the Muck that seized the injectors, on replacing injectors part used £100 each make sure you cover these injectors with a high temp copper slip grease,& never again will you get frozen injectors,& if you ever sell your van make a point of stating what you have done & add 500 quid.
this is all renault had 2 do on assembly(slipper grease? i wonder why they have not been recaled for this probelem,Ps dont put the plastic cover back on the rocker cover & spray the cover with WAXOL(THICK ESPECIALLY AROUND THE INJECTORS.

SEAL THE SCUTTLE, THIS STOPS WATER DRIPPING ONTO THE HEAD, THE FOAM UNDER THE COVER SOAKS UP WATER AND MAKES THE PROBLEM WORSE.
EASY TO DISMANTLE AND SEAL WITH GOOD SILICONE, EVEN NISSAN HAS STICKING INJECTORS ON CARS LESS THAN 3 YRS OLD DUE TO DISIMILAR METALS IE ALLOY HEAD STEEL INJECTOR SLEEVE.
MITSUBISHI WARRIOR SUFFER CRACKED BLOCKS ON FAILY NEW TRUCKS......THE SCUTTLE PROBLEM IS SMALL AND EASY TO SORT OUT...GREAT VANS AND STILL AS POPULAR AS EVER.
NEW TRANSIT DOES LOOK LIKE A SERIOUS RIVAL THOUGH.

My Vivaro is two years old and I've suffered none of the problems that the above reviews have mentioned. New tires are all I've had to buy, as a matter of fact the van even missed its last service (4000 miles ago)and still no problems. The trouble with these forums is that generally people don't right reviews unless they're unhappy with something. So I'm here to correct the balance. My vivaros the b*****ks!

SPOT ON.
MAINTAINED WITH PROPER OIL AND FILTER ON TIME ALONG WITH CAREFUL RESPECTFUL DRIVING THESE VANS ARE VERY RELIABLE.
EX FLEET HIRE ARE THRASHED AND UNLOVED SO WILL BE JUNK.
VIVARO IS THE MOST COMMON SIGHT ON THE ROADS EVEN TODAY.
THAT SAYS IT ALL.......
