CMC have recently upgraded their platform and there's been a huge improvement, particularly with the charting and MorningStar analysis which as far as I know nobody else offers. Would certainly recommend someone who moved away to take a look again.

First off, I'm definitely a beginner to trading, so can't really advise on some of the more advanced features, but I found the platform easy to use. It takes a little bit of time to get yourself up to speed with all the options, but once I'd done that I found that it did everything I needed. They also have some videos on their youtube channel that take you through some of the basics and some of the more advanced ideas too that I found useful. I guess it depends what level you're at but I found them interesting. Overall it does everything I want to do and it's easy to use. Good on my tablet too.

I have been a customer of CMC Markets for years and really liked their old market maker platform, which was much better than the "new" one they launched a few years ago. They have recently updated their new platform and it is a vast improvement! It has all the features it was missing from when they first made it available and I have to say, it is definitely the best platform to use if you trade the markets fairly actively (which I do). I have also got someone as my contact now who I can call directly if I have any issues, so they have really stepped up their service too. I am definitely a convert back to CMC after their recent changes and would recommend them to anyone who trades regularly. The only thing I would say is people new to trading may find their platform a bit complicated to use. They do have videos and things available to help but not everyone will take the time to watch them.

I have been using CMC Markets for a while now and have to say that as a company tehy are alway responsive and on the ball, notifying me through email and phone about various trading / account activities.

They made it easy for me to start trading and offered some really valuable training too. They guided me through my first trades and allowed me the flexibility to make mistake risk free! Could'nt ask for more than that really.

The new platform is great too, they have obviously spent a lot of time and effort listening to their users and building a platform to rival all others. Nice Job!

I have been trading Indices and Commodities with CMC Markets for a while now. I have had some horrid experiences with other Brokers in the past. I have noticed that I have had to adapt and use different strategies as to those that I use when trading stocks,cfds or ssf's. My experience has been a pleasant one. The only time I have had requotes was when the market moved quickly as I clicked to place an order. The re-quote was never too far away and if I click accept, then it accepts immediately.

Because the gearing accross the instruments I trade is generally 100:1 and 200:1. I generally use about 1% of my capital as margin. This allows me to re-buy more contracts at lower prices if the trade works against me. I will average down, then as soon as my trade returns to profit, usually 10-20% of my margin, then I bank the trade. Conventional trading methods using stops seems to cause problems with market makers, they know that most traders use stops and you will often see wipsaws taking out the stops. Thats why I don't use stops when trading with them, but I do have a cut off limit if the trade turns horribly wrong, usually 5% of my capital. In my experience this only happens around 1 out of 100 trades. Most of the time my trades will always bounce back and give me an oppertunity to bank profit.

I have found that when I was greedy and would trade bigger, then the gearing would eat at my account quickly. So I trade smaller using 30min, 15min and 5min charts, and I have been banking constantly. A friend of mine has been using them for nearly a year, trades the same way and banks between 500 to 7000 US Dollars per day, from a US$ 10 000.00 account, depending on how many hours he spends in front of his laptop.

I love the fact that CMC costs are so cheap and competitive to other Brokers. There are no execution costs when trading Indices and commodities and once you cover the spread, you are in profit. Trade smaller, bank profits quickly and don't place stops in the system, but keeping in mind a cut off point when trading, has worked well for us. Being able to swing the trade from long to short quickly when support has been broken, has also been a great way to trade with them. Conventional trading using Entry, stop and exit orders has not worked well for me with them.

If they are like a casino, then they are banking on the fact that most traders trade using stops in the market, and might use it to their advantage. The guy that makes money consistantly is the oddball that uses a different system. Try find a system that is different to every one else and one that suites your personality.
