Mg Zs 120+
I never thought i'd have an mg, why? because i was always frightened of by people banging on about head gaskets. I do believe mg had almost sorted the head gasket problem from 2002 but it can still happen, all cars have probs.
Don't let it put you off the mg.
I have the 120+ ZS and so pleased, sporty feel, superb handling, reliable, it's an eye catching car, modern looking, surprisingly better than i thought it would be on fuel for a 1.8.
Although mine has had different alloys put on with silly Tyres the size of polo's,
It's a fairly hard ride but very comfy in the half leather seats that hold you in.
It's a hell of a lot of car for the money. Buy one, you know you want too. :)
Couldn't agree more - that's why I just bought one ! A 2004 ZS 1.8 in metallic grey. So looking forward to the summer, sunroof open, music on, great handling and reasonable performance.......what more could you want ?

On The Whole Have Been Happy With The Mg, Fun To
On the whole have been happy with the MG, fun to drive and a comfortable five seater, with good looks as-well, the split fold down rear seat is ideal for trips to B&Q. Only one fault (so far) had to have a replacement wiper motor apart from this she's been fine.

We Have Had Our Zs For 3 Months Now Having Previos
we have had our zs for 3 months now having previosly owned a rover 25,...ours is in met grey with 30k on the clock and we love it...a good car with all the looks and feels of a sporty touring car,a nice sporty engine sound as well as a big bore exhaust as standard and sticks to the road like glue,i give four stars for reliability as ours has broken down twice, this was due to the fuel cutoff switch being prematurly activated by a very powerful jet wash at our local hand car wash(stupid kosovfens)and secondly due to low battery fault,we found out that the privious owner had put on the wrong battery...idiot but all ok now, however a cracking car and fantastic value for money,if you shop around you can get most parts cheap enough too !!

I've Had My Mg Zs 120+ For A Year Now And Love It.
I've had my mg zs 120+ for a year now and love it. i had a seat leon before this and had that lowered with some nice alloys that handled great but the mg is better love the sound of the engine sounds even better with a k&n. great value for money though.
i think the interior is shoddy not much to look at, seats are great keeps you put.
what i don't really like about the car is its unreliable the head gasket for instance. I've just gone an bought an uprated gasket so it wont go againn. id love to get the 180 but with insurance i kept to the 120.

Owned The Mg Zs 120+ For A Year Now And Its Been B
Owned the MG ZS 120+ for a year now and its been brilliant. Initial choice was between a MG ZS, VX Astra, Ford Focus and Honda Civic. After test driving each one, the ZS came out tops. It outshone the others in the performance and handling departments and I preferred its sporty looks to the rather bland styling on the others. It was much better value than the others as well. The only quibble I found was the rather bland (if well built) interior that I soon brightened up with a leather wheel, after market head unit and coloured door cards.

For £9500 with 1500 miles, the MG ZS 120+ is an excellent buy and value for a sporty/economic car - thank goodness not everyone bought one!

The Mg Zs 180 Looks Awesome, Which Makes My 120+
The MG ZS 180 looks awesome, which makes my 120+ look sad in comparison. Am currently thinking of upgrading, but the problem is on a cost/benefit analysis (Shell Optimax is expensive enough in a 1.8 let alone the 2.5l V6) the 120 is great.

Bought My Mg Zs 120+ About 6 Months Before Mg/rove
Bought my MG ZS 120+ about 6 months before MG/Rover went bust but still got it for a bargain price of £7,000. Was pretty impressed with it initially as I had moved up from a Ford Focus diesel so it seemed a big step up in the raw power stakes! The interior is not as bad as people would have you believe (I think the seats look pretty cool in black and red) and it looks way better than a Rover 45 due to its lowered suspension, nice alloys and big spoiler (go for the extreme sports spoiler like me). More importantly it does not drive anything like a Rover 45! It handles in a very responsive and sporty manner, easily capable of going around sweeping bends at some speed and leaving Corsa's, with all the boy racer bits on, looking rather stupid!
As stated it feels faster than 0-60 in 9 seconds and will easily do 130mph (where permited!) but don't go racing EVOs, Scoobies or GT4s because it's at that point you will realise it's not THAT powerful!
The big down side for me was that it blew its cylinder head gasket after 28000 mile and MG charged £550 to fit a new one THEN the potentiometer on the throttle went and that cost nigh on £200 to put right!!! Then again I don't drive it like your average Sunday driver...
