I Ran A 1993 Lxd Rover Montego Estate And Recently
I ran a 1993 LXD Rover Montego estate and recently sold it on with 270.000 miles on the clock, she still runs. As the mileage racked up, the performance and economy got better and better. The head gasket failed at 200.000 miles and i gave her a head rebuild and replaced the water pump, but expect to pay £70+ for a pump!. On the whole, she was reliable and dependable with only a failed alternator stopped her in her tracks, these Lucas A127 types are common for failing.
I miss the car, very underrated superb workhorse!

As It Was My Car That Is In The Above Picture Its
As it was my car that is in the above picture its only fair to say how sorry I was to get rid of her, and that was only because she was a 2.0DLX Turbo Diesel but had NO PAS and I was finding it was giving me arm ache trying to reverse her into my rear garage area, if she had PAS I would still be driving her now. They are a lovely car LOADSA room and very nice seats, far better than the T reg Astra I now drive, Rust is her main problem needs watching on the wheel arches and bonnet areas, but the DLX had lots of elctric goodies from sunroof to mirrors, I would say get an M reg Countryman as they have PAS as standard, if I could have found one local I would have bought it.
