Old Jamaica Ginger Beer

I have tried and experienced different kinds of ginger beer in my time and Old Jamaica is definitely better than Idris' ginger beer. I would even go as far as to say that Old Jamaica is better than Crabbies' alcoholic equivalent which isn't fiery enough in my opinion. For me, it's all about the lick of flames you feel tingle the back of your throat when it trickles down. It perfectly harmonises the spicey notes with the sweetness and makes for an extremely refreshing beverage. I am yet to discover a spirit that would be best mixed with Old Jamaica, perhaps something of Geographical equivalent like Jamaican rum would work quite well.

I would encourage anyone to at least try Ginger beer, I realise that it's a bit of a marmite drink, but having medicinal properties in it's Ginger extract, especially in our age of health consciousness, makes it a drink of choice for me.

Old Jamaica Ginger Beer is the best. I was in Grand Cayman in July at Sunset House' My Bar. I dont drink any more and when i discoverd this product i was stoked.

it's got a bit of a bite and yet it's smooth.

I am trying to find a souce to buy it in Texas.

it would be great with mixed with Rum --- the DArk and Stormy

There is nothing to dislike about Old Jamaica GB.

ginger beer is soo tasty and i think that they should make loads of different types but i defiantly love the original one.

Old Jamaica is great. It's got a real kick to it that leaves my mouth tingling, especially when it's really cold. It is a little sweeter than most Ginger Beers which may not be to some people's taste. However, the sweetness means that it makes a good mixer with alcoholic beverages, especially Whisky.

I prefer it from cans because the bottles seem to have less fizz. Also, it's very cheap compared to most other soft drinks.

I personally found the drink to be exactly the opposite to the cool, refreshing, tasty beverage everyone else has described. The second I opened the can I noticed a rather pungeant odour, like that of dishwasher tablets, but I paid it no mind as you can't always judge taste by smell.

Turns out the taste was just as bad, an overly sweetened and potent medicinal flavour. The drink also left a burning sensation in my throat as I swallowed it, admittedly my throat's not in great shape as it is but it was very fiery and just left me feeling even more thirsty. It also gave me terrible indigestion just from a few sips. Overall the experience was throughly dissatisfying and unpleasant, I wouldn't recommend Old Jamaica Ginger Beer to anyone I know. Especially not with a weak stomach or a sore throat.

I'm pretty new to ginger beer but this one is quite passable. It is very sweet though so i don't really like it on its own, but mixed with dark rum Old Jamaica Ginger Beer is very tasty

its really tasty and leaves you with a mouth watering sensation afterwards, i enables you to feel the real jamaican root flavour and is widely enjoyed by many

its a drink loved by millions especially me and to me it so nice to me its better than water so put down the pepsi and the coke and pick up a cool refreshing can of Old Jamaica ginger beer you wont be disappointed!

Old Jamaica Ginger Beer has a real strong ginger taste perfect for mixing with rum to make excellent cocktail.

It has a strong ginger flavour which is hard to get used to but is very refreshing to those who actually like ginger. It unfortunately contains a lot of sugar however and like most other soft drinks leaves that "sticky" feeling on your teeth.

Ginger is known to ease stomach acids and be generally good for you too, so the beer variety has to be better for you than say coke, right?

If you see it... Try it!I'm drinking it for the 1st time now and enjoying every bit of it.I didn't know what to expect and it pleasantly surprised me from the first sip... Would probably be perfect with vodka:)
