Ryanair is often slated and ridiculed, but it is a very good low cost airline, that gets you where you want to go, at, usually, a very competative cost. The baggage policy causes a lot of aggravation with passengers on Ryanair, but it is clearly stated what the rules are on baggage, and if you fail to follow these rules, you must expect penalties to be levied against you. However I do not like the fact that some passengers seem to flout the rules and get away with it, and others are picked on and made to pay to put their baggage in the hold. Consistency seems to be lacking on this matter.

It remains that Ryanair is a great way to get places at low cost, so even the little niggles are bearable. Take care to read their regulations and dont forget to check in on line, and your experience with the company should be a good one

Guest's Response to fub444's Review

Actually, having read a number of reviews AND having flown with O'Wearies charming line 18 times ( and before all the staff who work for him and post the 'supportive comments', yea right! jump in with 'why?') NOT by choice! Of 18 flights ONE was on time. Other than that I have NEVER met a Ryanair staff member who was competant, let alone civil. On one occasion when my flight was delayed coming back from Ciampino by a mere 14 hours, this shower of chancers abandoned their passengers in an unmanned airport, refused to comply with aviation regulations in that regard and in one instance STOLE the taxi of a young couple trying to get a baby to a safe, comfortable place. Long story short I claimed, as per regulations, my losses. Hotel, taxi, etc. Ryanair CONTINUALLY responded, refusing to stump up with the classic defence 'we do not accept the European legislation'. I won because I was prepared to pursue them through the courts, at cost, had the need arisen, and made that clear. This is the worst, most rude company I EVER had the misfortune to deal with. You know I could have shortened this whole review by simply saying, Ryanair? No thanks!
