SAM LEARNING GO. I hate this website with a passion.

Whoever's brilliant idea it was to turn revision (Something not fun) into FUN, was clearly overambitious. Here are all the things I dislike about it:

LOGIN: Logging in to your account should be easy, but there are a lot of thing you need to know, like your Student I.D is the same as your password. If you haven't used SAMLEARNING in a while, and you're at the login screen, chances are, you won't be able to use it.

CHARACTERS: All of them are stupid-looking, and rubbish. I've never seen such bland, uncreative illustrations of people in my life, whoever designed them is a terrible artist in my opinion.

LESSONS: There are TOO MANY. First, say you wanted to do a revision session for Biology (Additional science). You would first click on Science, then Additional, then Biology, and then...(Sigh.) Too many lessons to click on. However, what I find more annoying is the sessions themselves. You must complete each one by dragging and dropping the correct answer onto the gap. At other times, you click on the empty gap, and choose from one of 3/4 answers. It's tiresome, to say the least. There is nothing else. Not to mention, you need to fill a certain number of gaps to advance to the next screen, and there are usually 9 or 10 screens, which gets on my nerves.

Dragging and dropping the answers is a downright nuisance, because if you do not place the answer exactly where it should be (inside the box, not protruding outside), the answer will not be submitted. So you need to try again, and again, until it does. But my personal contempt manifests itself in the form of getting the questions wrong. It is stressful, and a bore. Some of the answers are deceptive, and easy to confuse, so if you accidentally fall into their trap, and get the question wrong, then you'll yank your own hair out. Some plebs are dead set on getting a hundred percent, so getting one question wrong is a crushing blow to your gonads. And there is no easy way to learn from that either. The website is not courteous enough to provide you with a hint or clue, as to why you got it wrong, so the only way to learn from this website is by trial and error. And that's no fun at all.

POINTS: Points are supposed to reward you for learning? Well I don't think so. You only earn an average of 100 points per session completed. I think you might get a bit more if you complete the lesson with 100%, but the difference is so small, it doesn't signify. The objective of Sam Learning is to choose 10 friends, and get the greatest amount of points among them. But what do you get, for coming 1st place? Not much. I don't know what you get for coming 1st, as I've never came 1st, but I doubt you get a glorious pot of gold.

COLOUR: Most of the colour scheme I see consists of white, and blue. A cumbersome, onerous, mundane mixture, that just spins my brain into headaches, and psychosis.

HYPE: All of my teachers at George Abbot School recommend this website. I wouldn't. This website is purely designed to make revision FUN, which we all know doesn't work. Trying to Make revision fun is impossible. Revision is not meant to be fun, and it never will be. In short, I hate this website for its' repetitive learning session, long and odious lessons, deceptive answers, retina-searing colour scheme, daft looking avatars, pointless point system (aha), and most of all, the respect it does not deserve. It is far from overrated. It is terrible. Just stick with the traditional AQA papers, and CGP revision guides.
