I bought this £6500 5 door 1.4TDCI Fiesta Zetec from a main Ford dealership in York with only 24k on the clock. Just after six months(now out of warranty)it developed a water leak which after investigation from my own garage, turned out to be an "octopus" shaped hose made of plastic, deep inside the engine bay which had been rubbing on an adjacent component. There was that much stripping down that I ended up with a bill for £178. More recently at only 40k miles, the turbo failed, landing me with a bill for just under £1000. Needless to say, Ford didn't want to know.I had to get rid and have just part exchanged for something very Japanese. The Fiesta looks good, handles great and is terrifically economicaly, but it's crammed engine bay makes repairs difficult and time consuming, resulting in high labour costs, even for the simplest of repairs. For me, the reliability just isn't there. I should have understood what my mechanic said when I first presented him with this Fiesta when he responded, "what on earth have you bought that for ?"
