We stayed at the Mirage for our 3rd visit to Las Vegas. This hotel by far is the best so far. The reception area has a huge aquarium reef as a back drop, absolutley beautiful. The whole booking in process was very quick and very uneventful. As in most hotels you have to walk through the casino to get to the elevators, where there were 8 elevators to the the first 20 floors and seperate elevators to floors 26-28 where the suites are locasted. The rooms are large and have all the amenities that you would expect from a hotel of this cailbre. Large flat screen TV I pod docking station, and internet access etc. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (including my own)and feather pillows and lovely duvet.Bathrobes and complementary toiletries. The bathroom is wonderful with hairdryer, shave points and a powerful over bath shower that pumped out hot water what ever time of the day. The room maids were brilliant and restocked the toiletries and cleaned throghout every day, changed the bed linen, it was lovely to go to bed with freah bed linen after a long day. The casino is not by a far stretch the biggest, but we only play the slots anyway, the cocktail waitesses were very good but I feel there shoud have been more about at busy times of the evening. The answer to that problem is give a big tip with your first complimentary drink and then she will come back to you time and time again. The hotel is right in the middle of the strip which is convenient for everything. There is so much more to this hotel, night clubs which although we didn't go into they were very popular as there was always people waiting to get in. There are two in house shows, Terry Fator(ventriliquist) and Cirque de Soliel Love which is based on the Beatles and out side there is the erupting volcano that erupts every evening at half hour intervals till 11pm. There is a mono rail that links The Mirage to the TI (treasure isalnd) which is good because from the TI you can walk through the casino to the fashion mall where you can shop til you drop. I am returning to Vegas in September and although I could have got a cheaper deal to stay at another hotel I opted for the Mirage at an extra £200 overall. The main reasons are, location, comfotable room and the helpful staff members regardless of their position.
