Do not use this company! I have a mazda rx8 and while away on holiday i had a misfire and cel light came on. Called the aa and they arrived after about an hour. When they arrived the technician sed i needed one new coil which would cost me about 40 pound. The technician asked me to drive the car to poole which was about a half hour drive. However on the way my car had no power, i was endangering myself as it cut out halfway round a fast roundabout, then a strong burning smell and smoke coming into my car. He then towed me the rest of the way (dont know why he couldnt do that anyway). Once i got to the garage they had confirmed that me driving my car had caused damage to all 4 coils, all 4 plugs and my cat resulting in a £2500 bill! Still trying to sort the case now, customer service will take NO resbonsibility, and still insist that driving the car would result in no extra damage being done although i have it in writing from mazda. Case now has gone to arbitration. Would not reccomend the AA to anyone!

Hmmm - sounds odd. I am no expert but I don't see how gently driving on 3 working coils would cause more damage (I know its a wankel rotary engine, not a std one). Basically - sounds like the AA were trying to help you out, but maybe missed something in the initial diagnosis or there is something very different abt those engines. I'd say you should just as well be blaiming and claiming some compensation from Mazda since you followed sensible advice and their design didn't stand up. Not surprised AA are defending - they only tried to help. They even tailed you en-route. If the engine was that rough and hard to handle, you need to take some blaim too for carrying on rather than just pulling over to explain.
Having written this, if it was me, I'd be mad with the AA too because the tow would have been the right thing. Things like unburnt fuel in cat converters are expensive and they should have thought of that maybe, but all 4 coils failing? Odd. Good luck.
