“Have had this boiler (Potterton Gold HE 28)now for...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 03/03/2011

Have had this boiler (Potterton Gold HE 28)now for just over 4 years, have had constant problems with leaks and E119 messages (which are now getting worse now the warranty has expired. having them about 3 to 4 times a day)... when the plumber that installed it say's this is quite common in this boiler....but we only got them about once a month (if that) when in warranty....

My sister has the same boiler but only gets the E119 message a couple of time a year (her's is newer)... so not sure if we got a bad boiler.... but certainly wouldn't have this one again.... and is costing us more in repairs now than the boiler itself.... wish it had a 5 yr warranty so we could just replace it.....

E119 is low system pressure. absolutely nothing to do with the boiler. you have possibly been mis guided by your installer. Get a good reliable plumber!!!

How's about a faulty low water pressure switch now that is absolutely something to do with the boiler that's a faulty part on the boiler and is common on this range?

Think i have same problem my heating goes off now and again and have to put pressure up or turn on water for a while at tap . my service engineer found fault . is , Hydraulic inlet valve making pressure switch stick so he is coming out to fix
other engineers couldnt find fault as no warning number comes up . just a thought . could be £350 to fix wish i was all electric at least only bills to pay this boiler insurance is becoming like a motgage lol.
