After a 5 and a half hour drive, a colleague and myself arrived, checked in, and went to our rooms, only to discover that we'd been put in tiny single rooms, instead of the double rooms that had been booked. Double checking the booking form twice, I decided to go down to reception and ask them to rectify the mistake. I'd paid for doubles, so wanted to stay in a double. The receptionist told us that there were no doubles, and we could either put up with the singles, or leave the hotel. At 9:30/ 10:00 in the evening, leaving was not really an option. Although pretty astounded at her attitude, I asked her to refund the difference between a single and a double, to which she refused. So I've booked a week in advance, had my room double booked, she won't refund me the difference, and keeps saying that we can deal with it or leave! In the morning I spoke to the general manager, who refunded me £20, although I still think I was short changed.



I had no sea view (in fact, I had no windows), a tiny, inflexible bed, and the pleasure of hearing every TV, running tap and toilet flush around me.



I will never stay at the hotel again, and will do everything I can to discourage others to stay there. Given that I travel a lot, all I want is a decent room, a comfortable bed, and friendly staff, and I got none of that. Shocking service and shocking accomodation.
