“Have moved in to a new build persimmon house and so...”

★★★★☆

written by chazclark on 11/01/2011

Have moved in to a new build persimmon house and so far so good, just minor problems to have rectified such as chipped paint or a tight door.

My personal advice: If possible try to pay extra for certain upgrades such as florring and tiles, it will help you edge ahead when it comes to re selling as all the houses on these estates are of very similar spec.

Refuse most of persimmons fixture upgrades such as chrome light switches and towel racks, aswell as fridge freezers, they charge an absolute bomb for these e.g. my lawn which is a reasonable size square garden they wanted 400 to lay it i done it for about 150.

My one gripe is the state of the paths which are to be repaired but no date given and the fact that we still havent had a final surface put on the road and have been told we might have to put up with high kerbs and raised drains for up to 3 years until the council take it over.

Ithink people have to understand that as an ex builder myself there is a lot of work taht goes into building a house and not to expect it to be perfect from the off
