I was a long-time VW customer (from a '76 Scirocco through to a '93 Corrado VR6 by way of an '83 GTI). I always dealt with Cedarbrae VW except for one instance - a used '85 Cabriolet that my wife and I bought from Don Valley VW. We were assured the vehicle had never been in an accident. After a year the transmission failed while we were on a trip to Belleville. Inspection revealed a gaping 4 inch hole in the bell housing (under the air cleaner housing). It was obviously covered up. Bottom line - they lied to us. I've never been back.
