I replaced a faulty 2 year old Panasonic DMR75EX with a Samsung SH987M model. Features excellent. Construction and finish good. Interface average. Not as slick as the DMR75EX. Mainly indistinct graphics and lack of a direct index. User manual is poor to say the least. I loaded the manual from Samsungs website and printed in A4 format which made it a lot easier to read as original was A5.Very clunky operation of main menus. It does not have the connectivity of Panasonic either. The remote does not operate my TV completely despite entering the correct code. Once you have worked out what things do it is not abad machine at all just needs alittle refinement. A tip I would think be useful to potential buyers would be to download and study the manual of anything prior to purchase. To conclude, I hope that I have better reliability, durability and customer care than I experienced with Panasonic.
