Bought for £7,777 new on Renault website as cash buy, Renault still do this offer at around £8,000 approx (£2,500 or r.r.p.)

I think all this review has to be balanced against the price, there is no other car that offers this size of car in the 3 door hatch range.

The plus points are reliable, comfy (even for big drivers) and a good blend of gadgets that are practical CD/Wiper speeds/Lights etc.

Boot has good space and flat deck, seat collapse quite easy, seat belts adjustable and steering is good. Engine works to a good level, cruise at 70 mph easy, and car handles better than most front wheel drives I have driven.

If you/I were unlucky enough to pay r.r.p. £11,000 for the basic/entry level model that I got for £7,777, then I/you would have been ripped off, I think the r.r.p. of this vehicle which always seems to be on sale at Renault (as mentioned above) will and could never be £11,000+, the car is worht £8,000 approx so it is a good price on sale, however the reality is this car gets 5 stars coz of the price being so low compared to the market prices of others.

If this car was r.r.p. bought it would be 4 star at best. The 2009 clio 1.2 extreme as I have, is a good all round car, reliable, economical and handles well. But this car is not excellent at anything, just good at everything.

So buy with confidence I think, 3 year warranty is standard from new and the car suits city/country driving well.

Although this car is no regular long distance motorway car (and the Renault Rep did say this very honestly), the Clio lacks the punch you need from 60 mph onwards to quickly pick up speed to overtake the various drivers we all encounter on the major roads.

This 1.2 Clio engine really works well bewtween 20 - 60 mph, but it requires a delicate hand and a good eye for the rev counter to avoid red line of rev dial, as the rev dial only goes to 5 - 6,000 rpm safely.

However once again a bargain at sale price.

Any questions please ask I will get bak to u a.s.a.p.
