As most "retail" valuations, bidz will list a highly inflated cost. Just like the cruise brochure rates or what a dealer will list a car's valuation at - a smart buyer would never take this figure seriously.
For the jewelry, of course it is photographed by someone who ought to be payed a bonus for each item sold. Scroll down to the blow up photos at the bottom of the screen - you will have a better idea of the workmanship before you bid. Much of it looks beautiful at first glance but then at the magnified picture you may see an item that you would not want for free. Take into account the measurement - the inch measure will give you an idea of the scale. Many of the teeny tiny earrings were photographed at an extreme close up - thus looking far more valuable than they are.
I have purchased a few designer watches, and recently some designer handbags. Workmanship looks good and I don't believe they are knock-offs, but then I am not an expert.
For new buyers, good idea to click "add to watch list" to track over time what some good winning bids are. You will see items offered over & over, so don't get panicked over trying to win the bid when someone else may be foolish & willing to pay too much. Let it go & you will have another chance. Items can go for less in the wee hours when fewer are on the site. I try not to pay more than 10% of the "retail" valuation. For designer items like versace, D&B etc, the "reserve" or minimum bid may kick in & the highest bidder still will not win. The daily deals wave the minimum amount, or it is waived selectively on other items they may be having trouble moving.
You can find a good deal here but remember shipping & handling, plus a bidz. com service fee is added to your total.
